Default RSS Feeds

I would like to have updated articles viewable on my homepage from a RSS Feed but do not know where to start. I specifically want them formated to flow as content on my site. I have been researching BlogLines however, I do not understand how to make the end result work.

Can someone tell me how to accomplish this?

Here's an engineering RSS for anyone that wants it:

To: All readers of Electronicstalk, Engineeringtalk, Laboratorytalk and
Manufacturingtalk
From: Chris Rand, Managing Editor

Give YOUR website that little extra something
...with live news from industry!

Dear Colleague

I know that many of you run a website, whether it's for your business or
perhaps a club or society. Why not add some topical content to it, with a
live newsfeed from Electronicstalk, Engineeringtalk, Laboratorytalk or
Manufacturingtalk? With our new RSS newsfeeds, all you need to do is to copy
a couple of lines of code into your web page; it takes just a couple of
minutes. You'll then have an automatically updating news section, with the
latest headlines from your chosen website.

We're offering this because, obviously, we want to get more people visiting
our websites. But what's in it for you? Firstly, you'll be providing
up-to-date news of interest for your own visitors, changing daily, without
you having to update your site. There's more though. The web revolves around
links. With a live newsfeed from Electronicstalk, Engineeringtalk,
Laboratorytalk or Manufacturingtalk, you're giving your site quality
outgoing links to a highly-ranked news website, which all helps towards
improving your own ranking with the search engines. So you'll provide an
item of interest on your site ...and improve its standing on the web.

Interested? Want to see an example of another site which is using one of our
newsfeeds? Find out more at
http://www.pro-talk.com/newsfeed

Yours faithfully
Chris Rand
Managing Editor, Pro-Talk Ltd

PS: If you set up a newsfeed, we'll also link back to your site with a
write-up on a special page we'll create ...which means even more help in
improving your standing with the search engines!

PPS: If you don't "do it yourself" ...pass this on to your website designer!

Does anyone know of a way to display rss feeds on a website that is not a javascript. I wrote a xhtml/css site and really do not want to use javascript.

Have you had a good look through the RSS links in the Programming Resources thread?
If you're not too keen on using JavaScript, then you'll need to use server-side scripting (ASP, Perl, PHP, etc).
Check out ronniethedodger's post on the pros and cons of RSS feeds.
