Default Nice

Nice find, Ronnie.

I noticed they are using PHPNuke 6 (reviewed 9/25/2002) to compare to the most current versions of Mambo, PostNuke, and Xoops.

I am not sure how they handle the feature matrix though. When I first found this a couple of months back, I think it had only 30 -- now it is much more expanded. I think the developers fill out a form for them so it can get listed.

I think when more people become aware of the site and gets some followers to start making reviews, then it will be a very valuable resource. I always hate rating sites of this type in general, for they usually have 10 rankings for everything (based on one vote ... hehehe) But this one is going to be different I think -- I can see some detailed and well thought out reviews.

Nice utility. Thanks for posting. I could not find Ingeniux or Hannon Hill CMS tools. Both are XML based and full of features.

You can suggest those to the Matrix if you want. Volunteer to become an editor, if you wish also. I think a lot of people are jumping on board the project and they can always use one more.

Default well

Well, I don’t really think there can be an objective CMS list, course many times positions in this lists are bought by the vendors.

Just to clarify what CMS Matrix is all about. It is not about "ranking" any CMS. It is a Matrix which you can select from (up to 10 at a time) CMS software and have it display a matrix of features side-by-side. You choose which one would provide you with what you really need.

There is a seperate write-up section with some user comments. That is kind of like a rating section, but not quite.

The feature checklists (which is very extensive) are provided by the individual software vendors/creators most of the time, some (in the beginnings of the site) were input by the original founders. Some of the CMS are commercial, some are Open Source. Each checklist is verified for accuracy by one of the editors at CMS Matrix. The editors are NOT paid to do this, it is all volunteer work.

Vendors/creators can choose not to keep their checklist up to date -- but from what I have seen (and due to the popularity of the site now) they are eager to do so.

OpenSourceCMS is the "Try before you ... install" website which features over 60+ Open Source software that you can demo (including full access to their Admin Panels). They do not provide for feature comparisons per say.

Also, OSC only covers PHP/MYSQL installations (no ASP, Access, SQL Server, etc.) and no Commercial software either.
