Default Writing to a text file from a form

Ok, it's time for me to start learning how to program PHP. Look's like no one is interested enough in my ideas to partner with me on the programming side of things.

So, I have to be a graphic designer, a programmer, and SEOer, a marketer and a nutty professor all in one! (doh!)

Right.. First thing i need to know is:

1). How to I get a form to write to a text document (in php). Can someone show me where to find a tutorial?

2). I need a tutorial on creating a php login area, so that these forms can be within an admin area.

If I learn how to do these two things, 90% of my problems will be solved :)

Hi there..
Why a text document? Would a database work?
If it must be a text doc.. will it be one file, many files, one file with data appended to it?

check out http://us3.php.net/manual/en/function.fopen.php

make a form, post to a page, error check, fopen.
(permissions will be a factor.)

The php login area is more complex..
would .htaccess work?

If this is 90% of your problem.. drop me a note.
