Hello friends,

Being a newbie in social medias I've registered in a few media sites and am twittering occasionally.

Please explain me a statement made by Bobchrist in the previous thread
"The purpose of social networking sites is to generate traffic by sharing content. "

How can I generate traffic to my website twittering in Twitter or FB?

Also please explain would it be a good idea to create Wordpress blog on my site and link this blog with Twitter, then submit that blog with my twitters to the directories? WOuld it be helpful in promoting or increasing traffic eventually to my website? What is more efficient technic to promote a website to be active in blog or in social media if choose between two goods?

I would appreciate your professional knowledge in those questions as I cannot see after a few months of twittering any great results except wasting time on it though I feel it could be useful.
