Sure why not? Are they listed elsewhere in addition to the blog location? if so then you just need to realize that only one version will be ranking, of course that doesn't matter to much because you are doing this for your end visitors.

It depends on the approach you take to your blog. If the blog is about your company, then reposting the press release would be OK, but perhaps a more personal, informal explanation would be better. If the blog is about the industry you're in, then I would suggest writing a blog article on a related subject that would allow you to reference the press release.

You could post it. But make sure it's not mentioned on the the frontpage. Just provide a link to the press release link.
Writing a introductory blog post about your press release might suit the blog readers better.

Hi Debbie - I'm back (remembered my password)
I wanted to add my own tuppence to this one... Any PR is a most valuable source of search engine fodder - you know, the sort of keyword stuffed, on topic writing that they just love to pick up on. I'd have a highly visible text link to my PR page on my website and repeat the whole thing on my blog with edited versions on myspace blog and a quick topical intro with a link to my website pr story (specifically) in an rss feed. I seem to come across alot of people moaning they've got nothing to say on their blog etc so it's a joy to come across your topic and finally get to leave a comment. But back on topic, I don't think your blog entry will take away some of the glory as your blog and pr probably attract two very different audiences. If the story is embargoed, that's another matter but I would have a the piece open and ready to copy and paste the minute you send out the pr. Of course, with the blog, you can add extra links to previous pr, other articles in support of yours and tags. Jonathan

Yes. Put your press release on your blog. Don't hide your light or a bushel , let the damn thing shine as brightly as you can!
