Default Blogging your Blog

Iv had a blog for a few months now and only writ a few articles, but with some more time on my hands im starting to get into it.

what are the best ways to get your articles out there?

I found this link upon searching - http://www.toprankresults.com/blog-submit-list.htm

I also intend to submit to Digg and Delicious.

Anything else out there that would be useful to get noticed?

Now a real reply. :)

The simplest way is to set up your blog software, if it allows it, to ping the Update services (Technorati being the most well known.) This creates backlinks and allows people who subscribe to keyword searches through these services to get notified if you've posted content that is in their area of interest. If your software doesn't allow update service pings, then I strongly suggest you convert to one that does, WordPress being the most well known of these. And, as I've said numerous times, don't use blogspot or wordpress.com or other hosted solutions, they do you no good. And if you search the word "blog" on this forum you'll find a LOT of info already posted about this subject.

Hi johnee

This is a subject close to my heart as I have recently added a few features to my site to maximise coverage.

First of all get the RSS feeds on your site. There is a good tool on Lee Odden's TopRank Blog. Actually the same goes for the Social Bookmarks tool

Also to increase the coverage for your best articles, publish them in an article directory. I have recently created a sticky listing the best article directories about. (please feel free to add to it). Include a link to your blog and/or website in the signature box provided as this is what accompanies your article when distributed. Nb: Keep a watchful eye on your article as not everyone willingly follow the rules.

Another trick I have learned is if you belong to a forum which you think will benefit from your article, then post the first/couple of paragraphs of that article and then include a link to read the entire thing on your blog. An example of this method is my Recent Article on the WPW Graphics/Design Forum. Invite people to contribute. Some people will reply on the forum but the odd few will leave comments on your blog as well.

Although having done all of that, the best thing you can do for your site is contribute quality articles to it regularly. Its not always practical to contribute 2 posts a day. I contribute roughly twice a week (very roughly) and the search engines seem to be fine with that.

HTH.

Hi Johnee,

Try to submit your articles to article directories. Have links to you site/blog on your content.
Also, blog comments, forum postinngs, add your blog technorati and social bookmarkings.
