What can be done to encourage blog readers to post comments.My blog takes 100 unique visits and 300 page views a day but nearly no one posts a comment.I think it is not so bad.I try to put interesting things and a lot of people read them but nearly no one posts a comment.I know you won't understand anything as it is in Turkish if you visit, I need to learn how I can encourage visitors to post a comment?I was thinking to do a campaign in that I will give a present for example to the one who posts fifteth comment.:)Can that be done?Maybe I am hurrying as I opened it a month ago.

- the best solution is to ask your readers to comments
- ask frinds and person related to your business to add comments that will encourage others person to add comments - use trackbacks. - ask your visitors about their opinions about your posts. - you can get more about that if you go to problogger.net where he ask every month question and readers give their answers. |

hi sis651..
If you want your visitor leave you a comment, then why not put in every post you have a statement like "please leave your comment", "comment please" or in any way that you want to.... Well, I guess lasgas gave you a complete list for that.. Good luck and happy blogging to you...

Take a look at some of the plug-ins that reward your commentators. Something like Jeremy Schoemaker's Top Commentators list does wonders for encouraging participation.

So what brings lot of comments?
Well it like getting conversion to sales page but in much simplified way. Here are few tips, which will definitely increase your no. of comments. 1> Post controversies in your blog posts. 2> Write simple posts. Yes, posts, which are easy to eyes, easy to understand gets easily inside the minds of readers, bring more comments. This even gets more repeat visitors. 3> Write about your community, give links to other related blogs, or simply improve interaction. 4> Become famous in your field, and you would get string of comments even in your worst posts. 5> Increase targeted traffic. This would also increase comments. These are just few ways, and with experience you would really learn, what triggers your visitors. Just check “http://thethinkingblog.com” and you can see how Ilker is becoming popular so fast. Also some of his posts have over 80-90 comments. Saurabh |

Thanks Everyone.
My biggest mistake is long posts. Some of them are even like this: http://ferhad.kayyo.com/turkiyede-ki-toprak-turleri/ Now I wrote shorter posts. Also I understand comments are not important as long as my posts are read by someone. Thanks for advises... :)

In a busy forum when the most active moderator retired, the forum got maximum number of posts! It's good that you are offering valid stories and information, but too long stories with everything covered make your readers satisfied enough and they won't ask you a single question...however, they would come back to see you again.
Too long posts could be a reason behind no comments. Asking readers to share their opinion is a good idea. Also use good images, charts if you can so that people find it catchy. |

@saikatblogger
Thanks for input. However no matter how long and detailed I write, there are still something to add.In my writings I share my old homeworks.I got good grades from them but in my blog someone says something is incomplete.Then I complete.However it was a good homework. :-O If it were a normal website ı could have divided the subjects but in blog it wonn't be good.In fact in posts from my homeworks I get lots of comments.
