Default WebmasterBrain.com : Webmaster/SEO Tools

This is my site :

WebmasterBrain

Please tell me how it looks in your browser, anything thats annoying or confusing, and any other criticisms you might have.

And in return: what tool do you want?

My website offers various online tools (many more to come) for webmasters and Search Engine Optimizers, so when posting your criticisms, please also post any ideas for tools you would like to see, be imaginative, and don't not post something because you thinks it's to complicated. Hopefully I will take up one or more of the suggestions.

Also, any tools which you suggest, and I subsequently create, will be totally free to use.

Hi
Opening your site the first impression I got was that it is too dull. But then thinking i think it goes along well with your topic . I suggest adding some mouseover effects and liven up your site man. No graphics , it seems boring.

Layout and navigation is good. I liked the tools on your site. I think you could add a tool that submits site to search engines and directories free of cost but linking back to you. Your site is not indexed by Google or Alexa - it could reslly hurt traffic. I suggest you start some link exchange . You could read my post about high page rank too http://www.webproworld.com/viewtopic.php?t=18478

I liked the way adsense has been integrated into your site. Layout is good . I liked your link popularity tool. I suggest you make a tool that also tells position of a website for a certain keyword and ways to improve its ranking......

I have a website www.beta-theta.com and if you would like to review it please go to the following post.

Thank you for your comments, sparshpolly.

Two reasons why my site is so basic:

1. Keep bandwidth low
2. In the past I've got to caught up in the design element of the site, when I should really have been working on the actual content, which is more important

But, I agree, a few mouseover effects, and maybe a logo would not hurt.

This is a good idea for a tool, one problem is I'm slightly cautious, since search engines frown upon
auto-submission, that my site might get penalized. What I will probably do is get a second IP, and use that, so the search engines do not directly associate the submissions with Webmasterbrain.

I'm gonna start on search engine promotion, when I have more tools and articles (my sites only been up a few days). I'll also be adding some free PHP scripts which will have a link heading back to Webmasterbrain. Also, the site is indexed by Google, just not very thoroughly or prominently.

I will be doing a tool like this.

Thanks again for your comments, I'll now head over to your post to review your site.

I really like the simple design! But I think the light gray text contrasts poorly with the background. It's hard to read; I think it will put off some users. I'd up the text to a darker shade of gray.

As you create more tools, you'll eventually run into the problem of a list that's too long on the right-hand side. Eventually, the list will go below the fold, which is fine for sub-pages, but not for the homepage, where you want to show right off the list of tools. I'd replicate the tool links at the top of your homepage.

I'm into the keyword generation tool, but I'd put headers in the result column. I assume, for example, that the numbers to the left of the keywords are the number of times that the keyword has been searched over a given time. I think you should indicate the source of the stat.

Usermonster, thanks for the comments.

I've changed to text color as you suggested, I 'stole' the grey shade from your website (#666, I don't think this counts as copyright infringment!)

Will do, thanks.

Done that.

Thanks for the comments, please feel free to suggest any free tools you would like to see on WebmasterBrain.

Good clean site. Easy to read & scales well when window size changes.

Suggestions: 1. make a bigger distinction between your right-hand nav & google ads
2. Have you thought about a logo (aside from the font'd webmasterbrain) It would be well set-off with the clean page.
3. (err - more later, gtg)

Cheers,

Mark

Default Nice

Nice clean site! Add a darker colored banner at the top to add a little contrast and develop a nice logo. If I were to be real picky, I would darken the links a couple of shades. other than this you have yourself a winner.

If you have time please review my site. http://www.webproworld.com/viewtopic.php?t=18643
