Hello everybody.

I have been reading WebProNews newsletter since last December and I have finally decided to post one of our sites to review.

The site http://www.luxor-benidorm.com belongs to an urban SPA located in Benidorm (Spain) and I have been improving it with all the tricks learned after reading your posting, so thank you for sharing your knowledge!

I must tell you that the site is not in English, but it will be in a few months.

I wish you enjoy with the site and thanks again for the time of viewing it.

Kind regards.

Tested in IE6 5k modem 800x600. Loads nice and fast. An english translation would be helpful. Otherwise, a nice design. I notice you have a Google PageRank of 0/10 so you need to get some links to the site. Good luck with it.

I like the layout, the caption with pictures are a nice touch. Clicking the caption which takes you on a virtual tour is good use, in essence having pictures serve double duty as icons.

That said, the content leaves something to be desired. I would try more information, right at the begining, which forms a unique business proposition.

A new and relvolutionary plan comes alone every week in this industy. Replace this with something like "Your body is different from everyone else. Our spa staff will not assign a program from a chart of average bodies no real person actually has. Instead we perform 22 different measurements, some as proprietary as our treatments. We then create a custom spa experience from a wide variety of possible treatments, not one or two like others do."

The idea is to say "here is the standard spa experience," what you will get anywhere. And we do these things differently, for these reasons, so you will get this benefit. Most of the lists are features. Things like "Lymphatic drainage" actually would concern me without further information. Why have Dermosonic treatment as the next step? Is there a reason? Or is it, as it seems to me, a list of industry standard terms.

Spas are experience heavy services. Reducing the spa to what amounts to a computer printout of dry facts doesn't support the nice graphics and layout. I suggest much more informative and desirability based web copy would bring out your unique advantages. Create a tagline and business proposition which differentiates better than a list of industry jargon. Translating jargon to English does nothing to make the term accesible to users and potential customers.
