Your header promotes a different phrase to your website name which would make it more difficult to remember your web address. The text in yellow isnt spacd right - the tails of the ys on the top line are cut off. On my screen the fold falls just below the 'no expensive classes...' paragraph so I had to scroll down to really understnd what the site purpose was. I thought the home page was lacking in images - especially given the subject matter, there would be a natural fit for pictures etc.

The home page is so long and full of text I found it a bit overwhelming.

You need images.
The Dear Friend Greeting is very canned sounding.
The yellow at the top looks like highlighter.
My suggestions would include
1. Break up the sections with pictures of crafts, crafters or kids
Have the images link to more of the details.
2. Your background should be higher up on the page
3. The idea is good it just needs a more "homey" touch
Crafters are at heart about hearth and home. Make your site more crafty looking and less
like a hardsell

you need to work with headers
try to make different, specifip pages with concentrating on something because makin 'long' site without any links (almost) - is not benefit as for site optimisation as for user attraction
better to specify pages and to make not so 'long' pages
