I played with the tool for a while. I found it interesting but have no way of knowing if it is accurate.

Thanks a lot! There is no fake there and it is in most cases accurate. It is easy to test just by performing analysis. For example take www hotels dot com and find related sites. In short it is based on statistical, machine learning and other algorithms applied to "semantic web". Again, you help is highly appreciated.

I tried "auto repair denver" related sites and it returned a site in Chicago as #2.
Denver and Chicago are 700 miles apart.

More confusion on my part.
Websites Related To: honda repair denver
#1 return is comp-net solutions: professional computer repair service from Boston.CraigsList
What? Boston? Computer repair?

I did metatag strength on http:// addisonauto . com and it gave me results, but no explanations. Without know why something is rated poor, I have no way of knowing what to change.

It's a great question. Davebarnes, it is not a regular search engine, so Denver is what confused it. It is rather a "concept" search engine. So if you try "honda repair" or "auto repair" you'll get what you need - related/competitor sites to the query you submitted.

If you play with metatags and put some unrelated to your site you will see that their score drops. So while tweaking title, meta keywords and description trying to make them relevant to the site content you will immediately see a positive result. The math model of the measurement (score) of relevancy is highly related to what search engines do when determining your site relevancy to submitted keywords and thus deciding which position it deserves in the search results.

Or you can also tweak your website content and see if it fits better to given metatags. Also see if it falls into right categories using "related categories" button.
