Just to start...
The first thing I noticed was that as I looked for the ability to hear audio samples, there was no link, or indication to where to find them. Then, after I clicked through to a particular product, I found the button. But none of them work, all returning this:

We're very sorry!

An error occurred that prevented this page from being displayed. This could be due to one of the following reasons:

- An internal AudioBible.com error occurred.
- A URL was incorrectly entered.
- The file no longer exists.

I would consider that to be a fatal error, when trying to sell an audio recording.

I'm getting ready to upload a new project, so I'll have to beg off, and come back to this a bit later. I'm sure someone else will be along to offer some comments, in the meantime.

I tried several, rjjj. But all of them on the King James version page, returned it, for instance. King James Audio Bible on CD, MP3, iPod, DVD & tape

Also, some of the product pages did, as well http://www.audiobible.com/KJV-Bible-on-DVD.asp

I don't care the empty white space to the right of the main menu help button.
That is, the width of the main menu should be equal to the width of the page.

Office Hours and Location has no content. But, Customer Service does and is perfect.

You should externalize your Javascript code.

could you tell me what the URL of the page that you are clicking on the audio links for?

the audio samples are in a flash player, so that they load quicker.

i just got the site designed and playing the audio samles are very IMPORTANT, so if there is a bug i need to know about it.

what version browser are you using?

do you have flash installed on your machine?

please let me know.

thank you.

Okay, I've got egg on my face! I'm running FF3.0.6, and I thought I had enabled flash on the previous page, but I guess I had not. So sorry for the confusion, I just tried it again, and it works fine.

Seriously Rick, very nice overall effort, well done. The only reason I am writing what I am writing is precisely because it is such a serious effort that I am only giving some suggestions for potential improvement.

The first is the formatting of the header - specifically your logo 'Audiobible.com' with the 'tagline' underneath beginning 'Hear 128 audio samples....' - For this particular element I would move the tagline 'Hear 128 audio samples....' to the right sufficient such that the tagline and the logo would appear as 'center justified' RELATIVE TO EACH OTHER (in other words leaving your logo in the top left is still fine by me)

The second point is the point that I believe Dave was referring to. Specifically, the header under which you have tab pulldown menus which do not fully align; as such that element lacks full symmetry (in other words, the HELP should be farther to the right whereas at present the HELP currently ends halfway through the word 'Secured' in the image for C-O-M-O-D-O (point to verify image). Symmetry is a nuance and to be frank, I wouldn't mention it except for the fact that there is little left to comment on; in other words, the mere fact I mention it should really be taken as a general compliment.

You also have a minor glitch which you probably haven't noted. {Bad link?}

Audio Bible reading on MP3, iPod, CD, DVD and tape

"We're very sorry! An error occurred that prevented this page from being displayed. This could be due to one of the following reasons:

- An internal AudioBible.com error occurred.
- A URL was incorrectly entered.
- The file no longer exists.

You might find what you are looking for by using the search box in the upper right corner, or clicking on one of the links in the menu bar on the top of this page."

No Office hours or location on that page despite being the expected information. (You post it here: Audio Bible reading on MP3, iPod, CD, DVD and tape)

Finally the only other thing that I could suggest that you consider would be natural up-sells. Clearly the website focuses on audio versions of the bible and I was thinking that natural up-sells at checkout might include a hard cover version or perhaps even bible covers; where perhaps even such upsale items could be included after one of your products is added to your cart.

thanks CW1865.....

I will get that Audio Bible reading on MP3, iPod, CD, DVD and tape looked at for giving a 404 error message, i am not sure why myself. there are a few of the customer service pages that are blank right now, Office hours and location, is one of them. i plan to these pages copy added today. i just got the website up and running sunday. so i am fixing bugs as i get them.

i did NOT understand the help tab issue you mentioned? are you saying move the help tab by itself a bit more to the right, so that it stand out more more on the menu bar?

what about categorizing the items, could i add any better categories? what names? suggestions?

Anything else...? what about downlaod speed or number of items on a page?

I was thinking of moving the comodo secure seal down and right above the free shipping image on the right side, so that the roll over certificate does NOT lay over the tab manu bar...

what do you think?

OK, I'll try a better way to describe it. Let's say that the toll free number establishes your right margin. So right after '0160' draw an imaginary line from there to the bottom of your page. The end of the 'help?' tab is to the left of that line. The 'Go' button is to the right of that line and if you continue down to the bottom of the page the blue field containing the text 'our company' extends beyond that line. In other words, your right margin is staggered. In my opinion, if the average web customer hits your site, a 'staggered right margin' is NOT a deal breaker.

Categorization is important because it will ultimately help your conversion rate. From what I am seeing, it appears that you are properly categorized but really only experience running the website and analyzing the traffic and watching where it goes will you really be able to tell how to optimize your categorization and the order in which your subcategories under your main categories. Eventually the cream of your subcategories should rise to the top.

Your product page is superb, it gives you multiple views of the item and lets you listen to the product which is inherently relevant to a purchasing decision. Your subcategory pages do not seem to exceed 9. On some of my websites I brought many products to the surface of the website such that there are too many on one subcategory page. I did this to make the website more 'shallow' because if a subcategory went into subpages nobody went there (including google) and by bringing the products onto one page, no person would scroll down that far, but google caught them and I at least have a shot at long tail searches. Your website's depth is THREE LINKS DEEP. I generally do not do well on anything over that depth (it gets buried in the website and people don't seem to get there), but its not exactly a crime either. Plus with your bestsellers you're placing your perceived popular items TWO LINKS DEEP which I think is a potentially good strategy. {Technically its only one link deep on your site because by having the drop down menus you're 'skipping' a link, but basically its main page, open nav menu, best selling product}

Its a 'confidence building' element that is in plain sight without the customer having to scroll, so I would keep that element on the home page where a customer has no difficulty seeing it; so its current placement is fine {I am more accustomed to seeing such elements in left nav menus, but you utilize the center nav console. However, when I 'mouseover' the pop up screen is partially obscured by the special, price and help tabs.

WOW.......thanks a ton.

I am all about details. I will get working on the right hand margin thing. I knew the scroll bars popup on 1024 screen size, likely from the elements you said.

There is alot of suggestions that you said.... I will and get working on making changes.

Any other advise is appreciated...........thanks a TON!!!!

Nice site, everything was easy to find and straightforward for me. Clean & clear, lots of info, I liked it. The only comment I would make is on a couple of products you have some mediocre/critical reviews of the products, and as the 60 day money back guarrantee is a big thing on the site, I thought it might be good to reply to these review reminding them if they're not 100% happy to make use of the guarrantee or something like that? On one of them there's criticism on the chapters being in the wrong order, I also thought you might be able to reply to that expaining what they did wrong/how to remedy/that you have a new & improved version that doesn't have this problem on sale?
