Default For what it's worth...

A few comments:

1) I had to read through the whole first paragraph to find out what your site is about. I suggest you either put that info in the first sentence or have a subheading.

2)I find the double column of announcements under the google ads on the right to be confusing and hard to follow. I'd take out one column, or arrange the information in one wide column so the eye is not drawn to four different places at once.

3) Your title in the <HEAD> could be more descriptive. Also, some experts say that too many keywords decrease your chance of getting good search engine placement. I see you've repeated the word "winnipeg" 3 times. Not necessary. Also, keywords aren't case sensitive, so you don't have to put in "Winnipeg" with a capital w.

Hope this helps.

First the site seems to have alot of good content but the design of the page (length) seemed alittle confusing. Alittle more clarity for the user on what the site is and how to get around the site would be a good way to start. But the colors seem to match the idea behind the site really well.

Default Site Feedback

When I first read your site address, "Prairie Grove" popped into my head - not unusual considering our minds take shortcuts, picking up first & last letters & filling in from our own databanks. There was a little icon after the title bar in your forum post that I couldn't quite make out, but it doesn't appear with the logo on the page. Oh, I do see that it's in the bar at the bottom of the page - still not sure what it is - closest guess - flower. Nice typeface - what is it?

Color/fonts: Both are eye friendly.

Download time - slow (about 45 seconds) - I use IE & also have a firewall that seems to slow things a lot. You could check this with Net Mechanic.

The Page Itself - "You are missing our premiere tool bar navigation system. Register for free to use it." At first I thought this meant something was missing from the page. This is a detour you may not want surfers to take. You might consider moving this to somewhere else on the page.

There's a blank bar on the righthand side of the page (across from the "Go" button) - is something supposed to display there, that perhaps isn't displaying for me?

The Forum list is very accessible - you might consider switching the Main Menu with the membership stats box.

"Welcome" doesn't seem to begin in the right place - Consider beginning with the second paragraph. Not sure you need the current 1st paragraph. Especially if you want to create the impression that Prairie Groove is THE place to gather (rather than "another").

The 3rd paragraph is confusing - as a first time visitor I have no clue what happened before & it makes me wonder if the site will disappear & that makes me wonder if this is a place I want to get involved with.

I noticed that in other parts of the site, titles are placed in the boxes that begin the section - that's not true of "Welcome" & "Google Ads". People recognize ads when they see them, you might want to delete the words "Google Ads."

This site has rich content - you may want to create more pages with specific content - such as articles. Perhaps rotate one article at a time to the home page?

Best wishes for success,

Linda
