Default OC Video Guide

This is a new site I have been working on... it is a tweaked php script. I primarily wanted it to be a site where businessess in OC can post their promotional video. Kind of like a You Tube of OC but without all the dumb videos people post for free. OCvideoguide.com

I require people to sign up as a FREE user to see the "Live Cams" and become a "Paid Member" if you want to post your promotional video.

I charge $250 per year with the first six months free for the posting, and obviousely I am after high quality videos, (all the Huntington Beach videos I produced)
The way I look at it 1,000 videos = $250,000

Right now there is not a lot of content but it is growing, with my marketing efforts.

let me klnow what you think of the idea, I think the navigation is real easy, if the menu tabs don't fit, the user can just put some keywords in the search and find what they are looking for.

Thanks,

Nick

Not quite clear what geographical area you cover. Should be clearly stated on home page. I also knew what you do only because you said so. By looking at your home page I wouldn't have had an idea. You need to let people know very clearly what to expect. The surfing video plays every time I return to the home page. annoying. No About us, Contacts.
On the positive, the site looks good and navigation is simple. Colours are pleasing.

The area we cover is Orange County, Califoria commonly referred to as "The OC" there was a TV show about OC and a Movie called OC, it is a very dmographically targetd site.

There is a method to the madness on why the same video shows everytime.... I wanted to make it so I can select the index video, that way at a later date I can charge for that! plus I am planning on having a promotional video made about the site and I an set it to that.

there is an "About us" page it is at the very bottom.

I think it's a great idea to use video to promote tourism like that. But I think the site relies on it too much and has too little other information. If I was thinking of visiting, there is so much I would want to know that I would have to go elsewhere for.

Links to Google Earth might be a nice addition.

Since you live in the area you could offer to shoot the video for them. It would be like them hiring you to do a commercial for them. You could then host the video for them in a package deal or sell them the right of use for the video if they wish to use it else where.

Just an Idea.

Note:
One thing I did see looking at your site. Your contact us page only has email and a fax line listed. To be honest I'm not going to give you any money if I can not find you. The only land line I found was on the advertise with us page that included an unpublished number. This does not help at all in building trust. I would add a physical address and your phone number to your contact us page. I would also include a web form as a quick and easy way to ask a question.

Lastly OC stands for Ocean City just type it in a Google search and see what is first on the list. Yes I'm from Maryland lol.

Smile Re: OC Video Guide

I do offer to shoot the videos for them, most all the videos in Huntington Beach were produced by me, with the exception of the Pacific Waters spa, and the Hurley surf video.

"Ocean city" Maryland you say?? where is Maryland?? lol
