Reading the many reviews on this site has helped me tremendously. As a result my site is slowly gaining some semblence of order. I'm not a professional web designer and know nothing about computer code. However, I am learning.
At this point I've made so many changes that I'm not sure I'm seeing the forest for the trees. It's time for some outside feedback. Any reviews will be greatly appreciated. Kathy |

Certainly an interesting topic, as I think maps are one of the information design problems sites face.
I'm not a fan of links which increase in size. Unfortunately I happened to pick the best reason on my first try -- the Catalog link on the top of the left column. Upon hovering with the mouse, it jumps from the end of the line of text, to the front of the next line. This behavior, while only evident in special case, is diconcerting for the user. I had to travel through a couple of layers of site before I hit anything. Try removing the layers of site users have to click through before seeing product. A logo based on the old cartographic styles (art really) is cliche, but there are few enough sites where it should not be out of consideration. I really don't think people understand the ways maps can be used. You might do an article specifying an application, changed each month, on the front of the site. |

Thanks for the review!
You pointed out problems with the text jumping from one line to another when you hover over it with a mouse. I'll be sure to change that. There's no need for the linked text to increase in size. I agree, it's distracting. I'm not sure what you mean by removing layers. What that means to a web designer and to a cartographer are more likely than not two different things. Your idea of placing an article on the front of the site which would change each month/week is great. I'll try to find away to work it in. Again Thank-you, Kathy |

Or, if the sheer volume (future volume) of product argues against this, a more descriptive intermediate page. |

Hello kmwolfe,
I liked your site, I found it easy to navigate and informative. I would decide if you want to use Times or Arial, the combination looks a little unprofessional. I think because most of us find your field a complete mystery so you could use more images. On the http://www.wolfegeographics.com/news_maps.htm page the link: www.aag.org/mapnews is not working. Cheers Bodhi |

U have good info on the site but your site has not got a strong identity. You need a stronger bolder logo. It is your identity. It's what makes you or breaks you. Your logo now is too weak.
