joking review

I have a site that I have ignored a bit for a while and I intend to spend more time on it.
It is basically a minimalistic article submission. (submit a joke)

site is here http:Best SEO jokes (not optimized)

the site is very basic. visitors can simply submit a joke that has content that matches their website. lists the url they wish to link to, then ad the text for the link.

I am looking for ways to increase user participation, and any other recommendations. Currently I suspect would be contributors are scared of retribution by search engines. but linking to the site is not a requirement.

I am interested in hearing what is so scary? and why you would not use a simple site like this? before I dedicate some more time to updating it.

Nice site I have put a joke in & link to Bad jokes
but there seems to be a problem after sending. shows what I have sent but no link back to main site content without back button use.

Tubby, I did notice as I clicked through several joke pages, that several jokes were cut off, midway through.

Thanks Doc - I am updating and I shrunk the text space. I shall fix that today.

I originally put the site together because I was getting spammed with jokes to my earlier forum - I thought I use should these pointless submission somewhere. I find it a good place to ad a bit of weight to my three word text link campaigns - IE a joke about Chevrolet's - and one more text link to '1967 Chevrolet parts' - I added some adsense and a submit your joke form. I avoid spam by listing the jokes manually.

Interesting idea. I get so many jokes from friends who have nothing better to do. I usually just
delete them without even opening.
Maybe I should find a way to use them. Thanks for the thought

I submitted a joke about dog and after that it showed a white page. Then I don't know what to do after that. May be create something like insert an e-mail and let the submitters know if their jokes have been accepted and published on your website.

What you say in your openeing paragrah here "visitors can simply submit a joke that has content that matches their website. lists the url they wish to link to, then ad the text for the link." - I eventually noticed the sentence under the submit a joke box - but I was really looking for it. Maybe just me being stupid, but I thought the premis of the site could be explained more clearly in terms of the benefits to the person submitting the jokes (or their website) to encourage more joke uploads perhaps?

My joke submission is a-comin' - when I can remember something other than the punchline alone!!!

Never can think of a joke when I need to,

I have a friend, no matter what how silly we always come up with the most dumm and great "you might be a redneck if?

We really have some great ones and right now Completely "blank'

Cocoon suggestion to encourage visitors to post jokes if allowed to add link to their site maybe under their user name or something.
Would motivate more visits.

We all can use the extra humor,

Yes! I will accept that suggestion, I shall try to add some more prominence to benefits.
It never occurred to me to explain. . I guess I figured webmasters would simply know this.
