Default http://www.ppcni.com

Hi everyone.

This is my first attempt at a WordPress web site.:-

http://www.ppcni.com

I bought a template from ithemes.com (think is was $75).

So far I have been pretty impressed with Wordpress.

At some point I will get round to getting a proper logo done etc.

But apart from regularly adding new posts, and maybe a few more pages - the site is pretty much done.

All constructive criticism gratefully received!

Thanks!

PS - the reason why I have created this site is because I want to concentrate more on Google Adwords Consulting (primarily with local companies in Northern Ireland), and my old web site - jmcwd.com was to 'web design' oriented...

The only things I don't like is the rising arrow clipart. This thing is used in so many places it isn't funny. Create something more original or leave it out.
Othervise the web looks good, works and I would think it gives you what you expect.

You did not forget about canonicalization and locking down directory indexing site wide as most people do, good job on that. What I did not like was running 1024x768 on a full screen I had a scroll bar. Other then that I think you may want to look into a few plug-ins like:

1. All in one SEO or one like it.
2. A Google sitemap creator.
3. A Social Bookmark maker.

I have tried that URL several times but keep getting a page loading error.

Is it the correct URL, or have you temporarily taken it offline?

It died on me when I was looking it over for the review.

Oh dear - did it just 'Time out' when you tried to view the site?

Must have been a temporary problem with the host. Can I ask what time this was at?

Thanks

(And thanks all for the other comments)

Thanks for that - I have talked with the hosts and the server had to be rebooted because of "memory problems"!!...
Hopefully just a one off...

Yeah - I noticed the 1024 wide problem - which I was surprised at. You would think that the template creators would have made it around 20 pixels narrower to avoid this problem... Still it is only a minor irritant to what will hopefully soon be the minority of my visitors...
I will definitely look into those plugins (I wish I had more time to look at all the plugins you can get for WordPress...)
Thanks.

I drew that myself!

I know what you are saying, and know it doesn't look fantastic - *but* if it leads to one extra person making an enquiry over the next 3 years - it will have been worth having on there!

It is a nicely designed site. I have three comments. First, when I click on the changing picture on the home page, nothing happens. It takes me nowhere. The light gray "Why Use PPC?" etc. could be darker. Lastly, when I click on "Or Click Here See How We Can Take Your Business To The Next Level," it just takes me to the Contact Us page. I was expecting more. One question -- how come you say "N.Ireland" rather than Northern Ireland at the top of the home page? Elsewhere, you spell out Northern Ireland. If this is all I have to comment on, then this is one of the better sites presented for review.

Yeah I see what you mean about it taking you nowhere - it just links to the home page (which is where the picture is anyway) which is a bit daft I guess - that was just the default setup with that template.
Contact - us - yes - that is what businesses need to do tot ake their business to the next level!
Yeah - the header needs a bit of work still - I intent to get a new header / logo done in the near future so the text will stand out a bit better.
N.Ireland/ Northern Ireland - I just wanted to mix in a few variations on the text / keywords that people might be searching for ...
Thanks!

Yeah - it is perhaps a little bit on the 'drab' side...
