The other website may be linked from more relevant websites than yours and Google stats and rankings change every day. You must continue to advertise your website link on as many relevant websites as possible. To stay on top means that you have to continue and maintain your advertisement for your site. enjoy!

From design point, it is well designed, clean and to the point.
Looking on your Home page code, in the title I would add American Bulldog breeders, ....................
Your keywords are pretty stuffed.
Jumps between Boys and Girls.
Links get wider then the rest and Contact us get narrower.
Uniform format would help. Favicon would look good with a dogs head.
But like I said on top, well designed for the purpose, good colour scheme, good navigation.
This is only my problem, but the font is really small on high resolution monitor. I bet there are many people who will have hard time reading the text. I am using 24" monitor and the text is very small.

Design wise the site is very GOOD.
But it needs to be well optimized with more content.

I also find the site appealing. I have to agree that you've overdone the keywords meta.

Also, I find three identical links to Paypal on the Contact Us page.

You really complain of your rankins, altough you are using a hidden keyword stuffed text on your intro page? That's ridiciulous!
Furthermore, you've got only few backlinks. Get more.

Good catch, Luigi! That hidden text is enough to bounce you out of the running, Randee. Highly frowned on.

After you fix what has already been brought up. I would consider removing the gateway page and making the home page your index page. If this is out of the question I would at least remove the meta that is listed in the <style> as it does not belong there. "delete it as it is not needed"

Lastly you may want to read some other comments in different threads in this section as well as the SEO section of this forum as I feel they will help.

Thanks for all your excellent advice : )
I will go fix what I can and have my webmaster do the rest..

I liked the idea of changing the gateway page to the home page but am not sure how I can do that but I'm sure my webmaster can figure it out..

Also I didnt think the text was hidden at the bottom of the into page as you could see it, so thanks for pointing that out..(yes I'm new at this )
That may well explain a few things..so i will remove some of the padding I don't want to make google mad at me : )

I am also going to add more information pages as well dog standards, health tips etc.

Thanks for catching the paypal buttons on the contact page ..no idea why they are there.. I will remove them

thanks again for the help : )

Maybe you should consider getting a new webmaster. The existing one does not appear to be doing you any good.

The text I think the guys above are talking about is on your landing page - I guess it's a footer and actually there by mistake as its white on black on every other page, but on the home page (logo/click to enter) its white on white - you might just need to change the font colour for the first page only? Personally landing pages like that are a turn off to me, just makes me think the site is going to be style over content - I tend to bounce straight off them - and having to look for the click logo to enter message to work out how to get further in is a double no-no for me!

On the boys page there's only pics, no text, so it would seem to be a bit of a waste in seo terms.

Thanks again..I know what you mean about the landing page /logo page ... I really dont like them on other folks web pages ..usually because they take a long time to load..I think it has to go..

I like my big logo though ,i'll just have to think of somewhere else to put it on my site.

I'll have to look for the hidden footer text again as well. : )

just a quick note then I have to run.
<META name=Description content=" American Bulldog Kennel in California breeding top American bulldogs since 1990 ">

Should be:
<META name="Description" content="American Bulldog Kennel in California breeding top American bulldogs since 1990">

Also

<meta name="keywords" content="American Bulldogs,American bulldog, Bybee's American Bulldogs,Bybee's,Bybees,American Bulldogs,American bulldog kennels in Ca,American Bulldogs in California,American Bulldog California,American bulldog,american bulldogs,

Bybee's,bybees american bulldogs,Bybees,American Bulldogs, american bulldogs,",American Bulldog puppies for sale, American Bulldog puppies for sale in Ca.,American Bulldog kennels,American Bulldog kennel, Champion American bulldogs, Ch American bulldogs,American Bulldog breeders, American bulldog breeder">

Should be:

<meta name="keywords" content="American Bulldogs,American bulldog, Bybee's American Bulldogs,Bybee's,Bybees,American Bulldogs,American bulldog kennels in Ca,American Bulldogs in California,American Bulldog California,American bulldog,american bulldogs, Bybee's, bybees american bulldogs, Bybees, American Bulldogs,american bulldogs,American Bulldog puppies for sale, American Bulldog puppies for sale in Ca.,American Bulldog kennels,American Bulldog kennel,Champion American bulldogs,Ch American bulldogs,American Bulldog breeders,American bulldog breeder">

Notice the quotes.

As far as the keywords goes I would make it.

<meta name="keywords" content="american bulldogs, breeders, kennels, california, bybee">

I would add the puppies for sale and others only on the page that are geared just for that topic.
Old school tip
You can remove the commas from between the words and just leave the spaces that way they can appear in any order and still work.
Like in: bulldog breeders of america
That would be done like this:
<meta name="keywords" content="american bulldogs breeders kennels california bybee">

After making several suggested changes.. I am now at page 27??? kind of interesting how all this SEO works. I'm trying to put back what i removed : )
But my web master fixed the entrance page ..it seemed for some reason the background wasn't fully loading in some browsers making it look like there was hidden text where infact there wasnt it was just an error in loading..

bybee, be cautious. It sounds as though you are making a lot of changes simultaneously, and not waiting to see the results, before making more changes, or throwing in the towel.

First, any time you make more than one significant change at a time, you cannot possibly know which one resulted in a change to your SERP position, if indeed, either was the cause.

Second, seeing results from any change will take time. If you wait two days, and then make another change, you might as well have made them both simultaneously, because changes won't register and show up that quickly. Even two weeks is extremely optimistic, and unlikely.

Think of it like this...your car is misfiring. So you decide to change the spark plugs, upgrade to a higher octane fuel, and perform a tune-up. Now the engine runs extremely weak, and your mileage is the pits!

Which of the three changes, if any, caused it? You will have no idea, so the ONLY reasonable option is to undo all three changes, and start all over again, having gained absolutely no knowledge of the cause of the initial problem. Lost time, money and energy, with no result and no further knowledge. But if you were to change one at a time, and test drive it, you would either discover which change had the most effect, good or bad, and you won't have to backtrack.

Just my

First off I agree with what Doc said 110%.
Secondly most of the changes you have made in all honesty was to fix coding issues.
I'm not sure how to put this politely, and I try to make it a point not to belittle anybody, but I think in this case honesty may do just that. I have no idea who your webmaster is, but I do know I would fire them. Your drop to page 27 from what I can see has nothing to do with any of the recommendations that were given here, and has nothing to do with the page itself. It has everything to do again with coding issues. A single quote can kill your code, as the quote defines the start or end of particular content. It is my guess you dropped to page 27 due to a single quote. Examples:

Quote:
<META name=Description content=" American Bulldog Kennel in California breeding top American bulldogs since 1990 ">

Should be:
<META name="Description" content="American Bulldog Kennel in California breeding top American bulldogs since 1990">
The missing quote before the word description made your code invalid and made it to where you did not have a page description.

Quote:
Bulldogs, american bulldogs,",American Bulldog puppies for sale
The quote in the middle of your keywords ended them at that point, making the rest of the words null and void.

Back to your dropping to page 27 issue.
Quote:

<head><meta name="verify-v1" content="UaCME5tgYTmN/WXakX9FHPfBo5ZD2SQwBTioZDcgwRM
<title> American Bulldog - American Bulldogs and American bulldog puppies for sale, American Bulldog information-American Bulldog breeder </title>
<META name="Description"
Your missing quote at the end of the content= statement makes it so your main page does not have a title. This will drop you to page 27 alone. The next quote it comes to is right before the word Description. This quote ends the content= statement, but also voids the description. So in short your main page does not have a title or description due to one missing quote.

Another note that you may just want to think about. I'm not saying this is the cause or not, just something to think about. Search engines are blind. They cannot see images. They cannot see backgrounds. They cannot read text in images. You have white text at the bottom of your page, with no background color defined as you have a background image. Since the search engines do not see the background image, this could very well possibly still appear as hidden text.

Lastly if you scroll down a little bit in the source code of the home page you will see <style>. If you scroll down a tad bit more, you will see <!-- . The <!-- is a comment tag, making everything between that tag and the ending comment tag void, like it is not there. This voids that entire style section of your code. There are two things wrong with this - 1 it is improper use of a comment tag, 2 - while it is fine to use a tag like this for testing purposes, it should be removed before making the site live. Now if you scroll down a tad bit more you commented out the java script. By leaving this code in there, you are pushing your content way down deeper in the source code. These ought to be removed.

Note: I also noticed when viewing the source code of your home page in FireFox, you have large gaps of white space in your code. This is not normal and other pages on your site are not like this. Personally I would try to fix this as well.

bybee, every point that amxfan has pointed out is valid, and capable of bumping you to page 27 or further. Given that you had serious issues to begin with, you were already probably flagged. So any errors that still exist will be doubly scrutinized. Some of these are such elementary issues that I find it difficult to believe that a professional webmaster let them get past him. I agree that you need to consider whether or not you want to keep your present webmaster. The nature of the errors flagged here, with the exception of the hidden text issue, should never have affected you this way, in my opinion.

You still have a coding issue on your main page but it is a small one.

Ok I really have to ask here.
Are you doing the changes or are you having them done? If you are doing them. Are you doing them live or do you have a testing server? Can you tell us how you work with the code and what do you use. 'like frontpage, dreamweaver etc' I have a reason for asking.

Hi Amxfan ...the little changes I am doing myself..I am doing them live..I go to my yahho account find the page make the adjustment click preview if it looks ok then I save it.. (told you I am newbie )...I battle html codes and copy and paste everything..

Anything I think I will mess up really bad or will take me to long I have my new webmaster do..make new pages, etc...she uses Dreamweaver and the site was built with Dreamweaver by my old webmaster.

I also have dreamweaver but so far I havent dared use it ....

Why do you ask : )

Since you have Dreamweaver it maybe best if you made a testing server on your system at home. If you are unsure of how to setup Apache, mysql and php you can download a program called wampserver that will do it all for you. From there you can download your entire site onto your testing server and make the changes there and make sure everything is ok before you upload it and make it live.
The simple mistakes that have been made would have been prevented by doing this as Dreamweaver would have underlined them in red telling you it was wrong.
Doing it this way would also give you hands on and you will get to the point overtime that you would no longer need anyone else helping you and you could pocket any money that you would have given them.
