This is my first attempt at using WordPress > Motel Hotel Website Design for Australian Accommodation Websites

I like WP very much so far, but there are so many plug ins and things to get straight, not to mention writing interesting content.

I've picked a simple template and I've modified it only slightly. I've tried to add the right plug ins, but don't know that I've got them all yet. In particular, I'm not sure about the RSS and other social buttons I need to add. In the next day or so, I hope to make a video that introduces the me and the idea behind the site.

Any feedback on this site would be welcomed. Thanks.

a few quick things

For me I find the yellow text on white background to be bright and bothersome after a little bit of reading.
you might want to install the plugin secure wordpress and also turn off directory indexing as seen at motelwebsitedesign.com.au/wp-includes/

For bookmarks I use "obsocialbookmarker" on a few of my sites and found it to be easy to use and edit. But their are many others out there.

1/ Colour choices (or more correctly LACK of colour)
2/ There are thousands of FREE Wordpress Templates, so why did you pick that One??
3/ Length of displayed front page. Just because it is a blog doesn't mean the user should have to scroll down forever.
4/ I give you 7 out of 10. Not bad for 1st WP site.

Very difficult to read. Even when it is black printing on a white background, it is not crisp. Under About Us, you ask for feedback but comments were closed and there is no Contact Us page. I did stumble upon a page to send an e-mail but cannot find it again. On your lengthy, lengthy home page when you mention Joomla, you say, "Ive also had great luck with Joomla." You might want to consider saying that you have had great success with Joomla. People are looking for a successful track record rather than a lucky one. This was all I had time for. Best with your new site.

Some text and link color is the same - hard to differentiate.

Had a quick look at your code. I believe this should have been removed:

There is more of that. That is part of the template.
I can tell by the colours you are from the burned country. But it could be hard to read. I had no problem reading. Colour scheme is matter of taste. Time will tell if you right.
Meta tags should be bellow the title. Also have separate folder for CSS.
The heading Cootamundra Motel Website for Southern Comfort Motor Inn just refreshes the page. I am sure you meant to open the website. That is by the way very nice site. Appart from that I believe you find very soon if your new web is successful.

If that is a relatively new site then you have overloaded it with outbound links. OK, you may need them to show a service. But the simple rule is 'slowly'

I add a page a week. I agree about the template and colours, I prefer, personaly anything that's easy on the eyes.

IMO, the design looks very simple. The font color is really not that good blending from the white background. If you are going to look at it for quite a long time, it would surely hurt your eyes. There are so many choices of colors that you can use for your site content to be more readable and cool in the eye. The orange border on the video I think is not really necessary to put and color it with orange shade again. The content would be better looking if it is justified.
