I would personally use a rollover or something to show where your buttons/links are.

Well it is very hard to criticise your site. I agree with the previous comment that a nice rollover would be better for you links.

The look is generally OK, all I could suggest is moving all your style to a linked stylesheet so that it is easier to change, reduce the size of your paragraph font ( I stopped reading large text when I was almost 30, really 5 in mind)

You have some great content but the general look is amateurish and this is no reflection on your ability as I can see that you have an idea of what you are doing. Whats missing is the presentation side of things which would be great for kids, if that is your target audience?, but not for most adults.

Just an opinion and I hope not too brutal.

Quiet informative site and fast loading site. I would suggest that you should probably change the gif graphics to more photo illustrations as the gif graphics indicated to me that this site is for kids. :)
