Default Launched News Section - www.killsometime.com

Hello everyone,

I just launched my News section on my website. I use a combination of asp/rss/xsl. Its updated hourly so the news is rather fresh. Take a look and let me know what you think! Along with the rest of the site.

Thanks!

Default Kill some time

I had a in depth look at your site. Although it looks good has clean lines and nicely laid out, it does lack a lot in the news section.
Im not sure where you get your news from but, it is not that new. Take a look at any newspaper on line and you will see how different they are to yours. You must have the story up ready to read rather than expecting readers to trawl through the text headlines. These are far to short and do not really explain what the story is about (although some do)
Also it is all text based and generally makes for a very boring read.
You need to find your market and cater for them, it will be a uphill struggle for you to cater for all readers, in the end nobody will read it.
The rest of your site seems to be aimeds at a young reader base, therfore you should source news that they want to read. Try not to plug an up to date service you can only do this if you subscribe to one of the internationally known newsfeeds, like Reuters.
Therefore your site will be full of features that are relevant and interesting to young readers. I assume that the site was built on what you like, if so then put in the news that you find interesting.
Sports is also a tricky one, for dedicated followers fo a sports, they will have favourite sites that they use to find the latest scores. To try and cater for them will be futile. So dont do it, give them soemthing different. Lastly you are very text intensive,, why dont you have a image on the homepage, at the moment the only images that are seen are the banners.
