Check out my site. I work on it almost everyday changing things around and adding to it. If you get a page that doens't work right, let me know. I'll get right on top of it. I usually proof my work before I save the page, but I'm only human.

I would remove every banner from the top and bottom of the home page.

I would get rid of the counter.

I would get rid of the little turning letters

I would move all the nav. to the left side of the page and make the buttons smaller.

I would make a nice looking header and a nice looking logo for the site.

I would play with the colors more.

I would keep every page on the site with the same nav., colors, header and logo once you get the home page fixed.

But you have a great start.

popoki, I agree with everything janeth had to say (other than the nav bar size - but that is minor disagreement) I noticed that on an interior page you have a photo of the hour. Did you experiment with using that on the home page?

The audience that you are trying to attract probably would like to see your work without having to dig so deep! Also I would suggest you spend a little time looking at the Search Engine section here at WPW. Then reevaluate your meta tags, based on the knowledge you have gathered.

Good luck, you have a good start. But do lose the mini banner farm and that blasted counter, get your own domain name and add some visual appeal.

Very slow to load the 1st page.

The grafic link for B&W pictures never loaded.

Running Mozilla on XP.

The S T P graphics took 134 seconds to load.

I'm on a T1 so I think the bandwidth issue is yours.

Popoki,

I agree with most of the other posts, perhaps with the exception of Ryan 2021's suggestion ;-).

The site is very cluttered and the graphic elements very "in-your-face". Since you are offering your photographs for sale, I would strongly suggest you have some professional help to design the site and make it more attractive.

Of course "attractive" is subjective but not to put too fine a point on it, the site looks very amateurish and will probably turn a lot of folks way.

I hope the critisism is not taken the wrong way, you did ask...

good luck.

PMHB :)

What with all the banners and adverts and the general style of the site, it rather left me wondering what bombs might be left on my PC - an extra Toolbar? sorry but it just didn't look like a safe site!

In terms of what I did see of the site, try to look at it from the browsers point of view. What are they coming to your site for? Do you stay on web sites that look like that? I get out quick!

Default site still needs some work

I've been to a lot of photographers' sites recently; and what I've gotten when I've gone to them are "photos." And links to deeper galleries.

1) I never did get any photos to load in - red Xs, other than three of the buttons, and the Black & White text is too large for the button; and "For Sale" has a different type font than the other two.
2) The site never finished loading; I'm on dialup and would have clicked out within 10 seconds if I'd just happened there as it didn't appear to be a photography site at all.
3) I did get all of the ad links to load; however, how would any one construe any of them to be someone's "favorite" sites?
4) View Source doesn't really reveal a whole lot of content other than javascripts to set cookies, etc. Why would this site need a cookie?

Default Thank you for your input

I would like to thank everyone so far that has checked out my site. You all had very good things to say about it (yes, they were all critical, but hey, we all learn from others, right?).

As you may have all guessed, I am new at this. I bought one book and basically read it cover to cover on how to do web design. I have just about worn out that book, plus peeked at the sources of other websites to see how they did things. I do work on my site about once a week (that is all the time I have available).

I will seriously take into consideration all of your ideas and input, everyone of them were very good and gave me some great laughs. Especially the ones where I was told I need more banners and pop-ups. Okay, so I should have jumped ship there.

I will start work on it right away and see what I can incorporate and learn from all of this. Thanks again...Jenni

Default This could help

Hi Jenni,

I joined this group, after "happening" on it yesterday, so I could give you this link:

http://www.tlc-systems.com/webtips.htm

Found it last night after looking at your site, and reading all the posts. I'm a newbie at web design, so can't help much, but the above page will.

Have to agree with most of the posts (with the obvious exception). I have to say though - I am grateful to you for introducing the"Shards of Glass" to me. I have never seen it before- fabulous - don't get rid of it!

Photos are great, but don't know if I'd have a category with only 1 photo in it.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I couldn't see a way to actually purchase photos. I tried to see your photos via your links to Picture.com & EPhotograph.com , put your name in, but got:

Name: Jenni Jones
Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e31'
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Timeout expired
/search.asp, line 134

I don't know what this means, but both sites had same message.
Good luck with your site. I hope the above page helps you as much as it's helping me.

Default Site Review

Jennie:

Not a bad start...hey we all have to start somewhere..although I agree with most of the critics I do not agree with everything the critics said. Your site is a bit busy, lacks more substance or what you are really promoting. Too many things detracting from what you are trying to promote. Concentrate on your main item or items. Otherwise keep up the good work. Check my site and give me a review too please. It's www.kuztomdezigns.com Thanks.
