Default input on ecommerce site design and logo

Please take a look at this site and let me know what you think of the color scheme, logo, layout, and product pages. Thanks!

The colours are a bit bright for my liking (maybe it's just Monday-itis by me!), and there's no text on the homepage explaining what you sell, who you are etc - just the 2 featured products. The 'click here to buy it' on the first featured produyct doesn't work for me.

There 2 products I clicked through to see had no text description at all describing the features etc, which you'll need to sell items at this sort of ticket price!

I guess I should have mentioned it's still a work in progress. The images on the front page are just place holders for now. At the moment I'm just working on the layout and adding all the products.

So you think the colors are too bright? How about the logo, same thing?

Also, do you happen to remember which items you looked at? Because I know I have written quite detailed descriptions for each product, especially the more expensive ones.

Thanks for you input!

I like the logo but I am not sure about the background (gradient orange to white image) maybe try with a solid colour?

Also I don't really like the image for the "30 day money back guarantee"

I think the rest look good providing there will be more details .

It would be more professional to have the shopping cart in the site itself as it can be quite expensive items (and process cards on your website)..if possible for you to implement.

Ah - I'm an idiot - I now see the product descriptions - but they're below I have to scroll down to see them, and the fact that it was offering accessories and the buy now button in the top half of the screen made me think there wasn't any text!

I just happened to read the WPW newsletter with my two teen boys at the table here at 8Am and they think the colors are great. They like the site ( and this is certainly a demographic who is buying your stuff) and wanted to shop your site already

They especially liked how you categorized everything. My oldest teen old says " in other sites, like when you click assault rifles you scroll down half a page and then they have "fillers" that aren't supposed to be in the category" He said he likes the way this one is laid out.

I probably wouldn't have posted about it, but they got a little excited - it's the hot topic these days around here.

The 2 gun machines on the left and right side os the logo seems to not belong there. Maybe would be better to remove them

Well it's always nice to get some input directly from directly from the demographic you're trying to target. Nice to know the site is going in the right direction.

Thanks for the tip about the logo. I removed the guns from the logo and I think it looks better. Take another look and let me know what you think of the revised logo.

I think your logo is great but you need to tone down the colors on your navigation to some pastel and that will accentuate the logo. The colors at the products on the bottom I liked a lot. Good Luck!

Like I said the two pics were just placeholders for the main page but but it's more complete now. If you want to take another look at the homepage and give any tips it would be appreciated. Thanks.

I like the website, the ONLY thing I dislike about it is the picture "feature-hkmp5"
which is your splash image showing the MP5 SMG. The whole picture is 'crazy', it shows the product, and then it enlarges it and the color shifts from red on the left to white on the right. I would prefer to see that pic (and the one beneath it) reduced and put on the 'left' margin and then bring up your six featured products, so that this way you get eyeballs on ALL 8 products on the home page WITHOUT scrolling.

Also recommend posting a phone number prominently in the logo.....

Nice site! The logo is fine and I think it'll appeal to the vast majority of your potential customers.

The product pages are great. I especially like the "Add a holster" and "Add BB's" fields. Great idea!

Checkout pages are slick and uncluttered. Nice implementation!

My only suggestion would be for you to add a toll-free phone number. It's a trust issue. Some customers just won't part with money unless they can speak with the retailer.

If you're concerned with the volume of calls you'll receive, rest assured that you'll get fewer calls than you think.

In fact, you'll most likely find that the calls you do receive will make you more money than the toll-free number will cost.
