Hi everyone, I know the last thing the internet needs is another forum, but I love talking online and helping people out so I decided to start one. It is brand new so there isn't many posts and not too much to review, but I'm looking for some feedback on my categories and structure. Mainly if there's any popular categories I forgot about. I grouped them all into 1 main forum to make the index page a cleaner and smaller layout with subforums. Also let me know how the speed is, I have a vps and sometimes it loads instantly and sometimes a little slower so I want to know if its my connection or the box. You can also add your site to the site reviews category and i'll check out your site as well.

You need a "real" homepage.
Logo.
Color.
Features/Benefits.

You can't just dump people into the generic-looking forum homepage.

I fervently support Dave in his recommendations. The site is extremely intimidating.

While you've definitely selected a great list of categories, the site as a whole is not presented very well.

I'd hold off on building the forum and begin with a usable and attractive site template.

thanks for posting deyounggerry, i gave you a review of your site. and thanks dave and dubya for giving some feedback on the site. i know it is a little in your face as far as the norm for forums, but that was kind of what i was going for. i figure most people who are going to join a "forum" already know all of the basics and want to dive in. i'll probably discourage some forum newbies but on the other hand might appeal to others that want a simple, well organized forum, with no graphics and all text. it will be a slow process attracting people to post but i'm ok with that.
