OK.

Your header lods pretty slow, but not too bad. I'm on a broadband connection so a 56k or less modem user might have a problem.

Your header is missing from your links page.

I'd consider re-formatting your home page. The eye catching thing on it isn't the content you want people to see, but the weather. If you want to keep the news and weather content on your home page, make it secondary to your main message. You don't want people to have to scroll a whole lot to get the main message on your site. It should be the eye grabber.

My links page is a plug-in so I'll have to do some research to see if they will allow it.

I had my main message content on the home page in an auto scroll using dynamic html, but wasn't sure if people would have a problem reading it. What do you think? Should I use the auto-scroll?

OK. About the links page. Why not create a 2 frame split page. Put your header in the top frame, your plug in in the bottom. Don't show the frames or borders and you'll have something that should work.

As far as the home page content, I'd get rid of the extra content on both sides and put it at the bottom. It's a courtesy you're offering, but not critical to your message or clients. As far as the DHTML and auto scrolling, I've found that the less gimicks the better. It's fun to play with code when you're developing, but you're creating the site for your customers. It's got to be easy for them to read, get the point, and contact you.

You're message on the home page is concise and user friendly. It's to the point and definitely tells people what service you offer, as well as gives them an insight to your own "user friendliness" so to speak. If you moved the miscellaneous content to the bottom, or off your home page entirely to another page, then got rid of the 3 collumn table, or at least set it to 10%/80%/10% size ratio, you'd get your message in to the main part of your window without needing to scroll.

Just my opinion anyway.

I think it has good content but the page loads extremely slow on my dial-up. I am a novice at web-design but I (personal opinion) am sick of black bgs and neon letters. (You said all comments.)

My suggestion would be move the weather and news below your content.

realistically, however, it isn't great for a business. I found that out some years back when I was doing a business site. I found that the simpler, the better. I had great kudos for how the site looked (had awesome flash on it too!) but abandoned almost all my COOL ideas for customer usability.

Take a look at my site too, would appreciate input there too. I suggest going to other businesses and see what they use that works. My site used Wal-Mart as a guide.

Yeah, Flash is cool, but it does make the page load slow under a dial-up. I am considering revamping the page and not using all the bells and whistles.

I checked your site out, too. I like the site, but I do think it's a little crowded. That's about it. Otherwise, great site.

Remember I said I'm tired of black bgs??? Well I came across this in comp.infosystems.www.authoring.stylesheets newsgroup:
for those of us who used computers back in 1980's, black background with white, green or amber text is the norm.
When you work on the computer, year after year, dark background causes a lot less eye strain. Black background/green text being the most pleasant, long term.
For people who have not been working on computers for years and years, and are more used to reading things on paper, dark background is very odd. True, on paper, dark letters on light paper is easier to read.

That is me, used to light bg/dk text, maybe change is coming.
