Default PhotoVideoCompany.com Review Please If You Would Be So Kind - Thank you!

If you can spare a minute or two of your time, I would love to hear your thoughts about the website in my signature, if you would be so kind?

Really appreciate it and many thanks.

Mark

Might be a firewall restriction but I'm not seeing any video whatsoever either in FireFox or IE... maybe because it's linked to at another domain?

Before you read any further, be advised that I may come off as a jerk. Please consider that I'm only trying to help you understand how the public might view and use your site.

I'm not seeing any breathtaking video or information that would compel me to keep clicking. Considering that I dpn't see any video or photos, overall, the site appears rather dull and uninviting and it does nothing to exude confidence in your professionalism.

I'd recommend that you remove the enormous banner under your horizontal navigation menu at the top of the home page. It really doesn't serve any useful purpose, especially considering that your logo is right up at the top of the screen.

That space is quite possibly the most valuable piece of real estate on your page, you'd do well to fill it with some sort of sample video slide show or something to grab the user's attention.

As a potential client, I'd be a little less than captivated by the lack of contractual information regarding what it is that you're going to provide for my $50. Tell me more about what I can expect and what's required of me. I've got 300 family photos that all need varying degrees of cropping, resizing and repair. Do you do that as well? What are the rates for editing photos?

Do I get a sample proof of the completed project? Can I request changes? How many changes will you make before you tell me to hit the road?

Is my satisfaction guaranteed? How do I pay you? PayPal, Money order, certified cheque, Visa, MasterCard, personal cheque?

Who owns the digital rights to the completed files? Do you give the customer the project files after you've completed their products?

How long have you been creating videos? What's your experience? Where's your "About Us" page? Do you belong to any video groups or photographic associations that might lend credibility to your claims of professionalism?

Do not underestimate the importance of the Contact page. Many customers just want to hear a voice at the end of a phone before they'll part with their money. Where are you located? Why can't I find a toll-free phone number? I might not be ready to order yet but I might have a few questions. Where is the simple "Contact Us" page with a form for emailing you?

The "Order/Create Video" page needs a lot of work. The single text field is impossible to use if I've got a paragraph of text to type in. I'd recommend that you change it to a text area.

I find the site quite lacking in usability. You really would do well to pick up a copy of Steve Krug's book titled "Don't Make Me Think" volume 2.

Like to see some of your video sample screenshots on your Home page to grab some attention and demos.

Well, I'm seeing all the video links and clips without a problem.

I have one very basic comment...

You are selling a "visual" medium and yet I do not find your site visually appealing. You are not doing justice to your work at all with the site design and layout.

I would seriously consider working with someone on a real sharp design for the site as starters. The next thing I would consider would be to make a photo video presentation, or a series of presentations, that sells YOU, what you have to offer, why potential clients NEED your services, that extolls what you do and can do for a client. Nothing at wrong with testimonials or or client examples but sell yourself first.

Dave

The text is site wide and maybe place text to the left of each video? Content is important but layout and presentation is actually more important for a website sometimes.

Also the site name is repeated twice at the top and almost the whole top area.. not good. This is where less is more comes into play.

A design indeed is needed to package your website for sure!

Your current menu tab indicator is situated between Home and Order menu tabs.

All good points, ok I'll get onto a revamp as soon as I can.

Many thanks for providing such valuable user testing, that's worth it's weight in gold.

Really appreciate it, especially the time taken out to reply which for one or two of you, must have taken a while to type all of that out, conveying your thoughts etc.

Thank you so much!

Kindest regards.

Mark
