Default Broken cabinetry?...Review please

Please take a look at my first Wordpress blog related to many things having to do with broken cabinetry. I am pouring almost thirty years of experience into this one.

Specifically, I am wondering what you think about my monetization techniques for making money with this blog.

I like the design especially the nice black header. Maybe you could incorporate the bread crumbs into the top header there after the about link - I think that would make it look interesting and the bread crumbs would take up less space.

You can have 3 google ad's within the site pages in case you want to squeeze another one in. Site is good information. It's a little long as in lots to scroll about up and down. Can you control the amount of articles on the home page and reduce it to about two scrolls? As in top half page - scroll to 2nd half of page?

The site is full of information and monies is to be made via the ads correct? At least that's what it looks like to me at the moment. If so, it's ok to have large wide Google ad's right under the header image so a few will click as most click whatever is in the top half.

Maybe I'm missing something but if your using the content to get traffic and wanting them to click the ad's then I highly suggest the text only with nice blend of colors not to stand out so much.

Nice work!

  • Yes I believe I can change the amount of articles that are on the index page.
  • On the individual article pages I have a 336 x 280 block underneath the header.
  • I don't understand your last suggestion...I have only added a couple of Image impressions, the majority of advertisements are text. Actually, in the sidebar I have a couple of large image banners. Are you suggesting that I change the color of text links? I have made all of the site links the same color as the Google ads, so I am a bit confused about what your suggesting.
I wonder, does anyone else think my index page is too long? http://fixmycabinet.com

Thanks for your comment,s I really appreciate your help a lot. I guess that I have tried to balance text ads with image ads as well. Your right I have a lot of information and I am adding to it daily.

Thirty years of cabinetry experience bottled up inside just pours onto the pages.

Thanks, Jordy

I think the length is fine. It will fit on most monitors so you're fine with that.

But I just noticed you have some hidden text up at the top of the site. I see "cabinetry repair " in gray at the very top left hand side. You should remove that as if you get catch with that in Google you may be a penalty.
