Default www.boreal.com

We are currently changing ISP's and would like any input concerning the content and layout. Our company provides schools in Canada with science equipment and supplies.

To get informative comments -- besides looks and code -- you are going to have to do user testing. Set up tasks, see where users have problems.

You may find there are difficulties you had not anticipated, or things users desire which aren't even there. For example, even in Canada or perhaps if you want to also target U.S. teachers, you might want to check into something I once saw. This was where teachers sometimes make up equipment budget shortfalls out of their own salary. Setting up a "wishlist account" would be a first step, although I've seen more interesting examples.

Anyway, this would be an interesting way to develop a newsworthy subject which would get press coverage. And it would be a way to solve -- from the perspective of at least one news show -- a problem worthy of becoming a mission.

Few companies set up sites which are more than colorful automated warehouses. The focus of these sites is efficient distributions, not layout or content as part of marketing strategy. Most designs suggest most of the big questions about what drives sales have been answered. Careful user testing might still reveal some surprising insights. But if you're not looking you are not going to find.

Default Good Job

Jbouchard:

Well done, well done indeed.

Easy on the eye and easy to navigate.
Loaded fast though I am on a 1.5mb pipe.
You also have good numbers on Alexa Search.

Points:
Your site seems over sized for 800/600 resolution.
The only font issue I might mention is anywhere you are using TimesRoman you might want to try Arial, Tohoma, or Verdana. These are fonts that are great for speed reading.
On last item: I would reccomend a Secure Site Seal. It will give your buyers a sense of ease when bring out their plactic. (near the cart or bottem of the page)

The site as a whole is worth being used as an example to those looking for a great idea.

Keep up with the great work.

Respectfully,
