Default www.onepaycheckatatime.com review

I've been a frequent observer of these threads, and this is my first posting! Some friends of mine helped me launch the web site, www.onepaycheckatatime.com, to help me market my book entitled ONE PAYCHECK AT A TIME. Any feedback from you will be welcomed.

The meta tags will be uploaded tonight or tomorrow.

Here's what I have thus far based on the advice in the threads I've read in this forum:
<TITLE>Become Debt Free One Paycheck at a Time</TITLE>
<META NAME="Description" CONTENT="The no-nonsense strategy to become debt free ONE PAYCHECK AT A TIME.">
<META NAME="Keywords" CONTENT="debt, debt free, credit card debt, debt consolidation, budget, household budget, cash flow, debt recovery, money management, eliminate debt, debt negotiation, budget management, consolidate debt, debt relief, debt reduction, debt help, get out of debt, debt elimination, reduce debt, personal budget, family budget, make a budget, budget worksheets, monthly budget, debt book, budget living magazine, financial plan">

And, another friend is working on an auto-responder so that I don't have to be chained to my desk when someone purchases the ebook. And, finally, by the end of this weekend, I should also have a popup window that sits behind the user's browser providing a second opportunity to purchase the book if they leave the site.

It's been a very exciting project and I'm learning so much! My next challenge will be marketing the book online. I have had mediocre luck in the past with pay-per-click search engines. The big credit card companies and Suze Orman are tough competition. Fortunately, my book is now sold at amazon.com, barnesandnoble.com, and booksamillion.com. However, I make more money when they are sold on my own site.

I've been investigating some affiliate pay-per-sale programs where I want to pay $2 for every ebook purchased and $1 for every paperback. There isn't a lot of cushion room for much more than that. What are your thoughts -- is it enough to motivate an affiliate?

I thought that I would spend some time next week submitting book excerpts and articles to some websites for publication.

I don't expect to make a living off the book, but it would be nice to have some extra spending money :-)
Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Kim

Default Just go to getvisitors.net

Just go to some PPC's and get some traffic.

The book will sell. Topic is right for this time.

Hope this helps

Default Just one thing

The site is very nice and professional.
It only left me with one question,

The author, Kimberly A. Griffiths, has been through the vicious cycle of debt herself...

and what is her financial status now???

If you have used these technics to become financial stable then you should indicate that and be prepared for people (skeptics) to pull credit reports etc.

I know that sounds a bit extreme but politics are everywhere.

good job though and good luck!

Thank you for the words of advice! I figured credibility might be an issue. If my credit report wasn't so darn personal, I'd be willing to share it. That was my reason for the personal testimonials. If you have any suggestions about how to overcome the credibility factor, I'd really love to hear them.

I thought about offering a money back guarantee, but seems consumers are sick of that too.

Thanks!
Kim

Default Don't know..

You could try offsetting your personal crediability with the reviews from those more credible then yourself. Affiliations with organizations, etc.

Default Your site

Hi,
I think your site is good and what you are selling should sell well. The price you are considering paying affiliates should be adequate to interest them.
I have not had much success with Pay Per Click either. Have you tried www.adwords.google.com? They are the best I have seen because they allow you to choose the maximum cost of each click and the maximum amount you are willing to spend each day. They require a $5.00 set-up fee, but not any daily or monthly minimums and no contract. I tried them and got a few visitors, but no customers. It might work better for you however.
Another thought I had was you might want to consider adding affiliates to your site. www.cj.com and www.linkshare.com are two I have tried. You can join for free. Adding relevant affiliates to your site might bring in additional revenue for you, even if they don't buy your book. I have quite a few affiliates on my site, but my traffic is so low right now (I'm just starting out) that I haven't earned anything from them yet. But hopefully when I get some traffic going, they will bring in some revenue. But even if they don't, it was free, so I am not out anything.
You might also consider link exchanges with relevenant sites. However this is quite time consuming.
I hope some of this helps. I think your book sounds great!
I would appreciate it if you wouldn't mind reviewing my site as well. www.shoppalstores.com/bargains . If you do decide to do link exchanges in the future, I would be glad to exchange links.
Teresa

Default Gr8WebDesign, worthy of www.Gr8WebDesign.com

Gr8 Web design, but i would make the pic of the people a bit stronger, they look depressed, whereas if they have found your site, they should be happy!

Thank you for your feedback regarding the main photo, the link share, and affiliate options. I'm still plugging away on this. All of your comments are very helpful!
