Default Antiques Site Needs Review www.mygrannysatticantiques.com

I'm a little frightened, but I need a good critique. This is my first attempt at site design and especially anything to attract traffic.

For your time I have a 10% discount sale right now and I will also critique your site in return.

Thank you,
Michelle

at this time, your site must be experiencing difficulties, but it cannot be accessed... will try again another time.

Default website critique

Hi Michelle,

I enjoyed looking at your site, and I can see that you have put a lot of work into it. While I did not check out every link, the navigation seemed to be working well.

My main concern was with the colors. While the individual colors were fine by themselves, the combination just did not seem to go together at all. If you are interested in having a website with colors that go well together, please go to this website, http://www.pixy.cz/apps/barvy/index-en.html. I suggest that you do some experimentation while there. You can select various options, and the site will provide you with many suggested color combinations that blend well together.

Best wishes for success.

Hi Michelle,

I visited your website because I love antiques and collectibles. So, when I was at your site I looked at it from two perspectives; web design and buyer.

I love the background color and I think the pink in the graphics works well. I found the several different colors of the fonts too busy and confusing. There are also pop ups which are annoying.
The navigation works well. I think each page needs to be consistant. Try just using 3 colors for fonts.
I liked the green and purple. That's the color my monitor was showing. I was also seeing a blue and orange. I think that is too distracting.

I do like your website. I wish you much success.

The first thing that hit me was the annoying pop-ups. I was interested to see further on that one of the conditions for your website award was no or few pop ups!
I think generally the colour scheme was good although the pink of the banner could do with toning down a bit and the same with the vibrant green of the checkout/basket buttons so that they match the more muted tones of the rest of the site.
I think the site would also benefit from consistent headings.
Some of the pictures were a bit blurry but I liked the fact you could expand them all.
Overall the site has a nice feel to it.

Default Thank you all for taking the time

POP-UPS ARE GONE!!! It annoyed me too so I can imagine what it did to everyone else, it wasn't around for long. All of your critiques are wonderful and I will work on each of them.

Thank you for taking the time to look things over.
