the doesn't look all that bad but there is room for improvement.

First it looks more like a popup advertisement then a website, sorry but that was my first impression.

everything is centered and it looks as though it all runs together with no breaks or borders.
it looks as if it is all for one srvice instead of different items.

Sorry but as soon as I seen the site I just wanted to close the window cause there was nothing there that made me wanted to stay any longer then a few seconds, you have to have some sort of suspense that would make me stay or even be curious to click a link to find out more info on what you offer.

now the other site at http://perryco.mygv.com/newsite/ looked even better and honly had one flaw that I seen but that is only if you had eagle eyes to see it

Default not terrible

It is not a terrible site, but it does have an air of pre designed template, or ready made website just add content, bake for two hours and add icing sugar to taste!
The index page has far too much content, reduce it, and put the excess on a seperate page, even if this means using a >>>more link.
I would never have any writing above the main page design, this can be confusing to the browser and is bad design feng shui
Hope this helps,
Regards
Thom.

Without some distinctive branding image (logo), there's a uninviting vacuity to every page of the site. Your bookstore page (http://pergis.net/shopping_page.html) doesn't even have your name in the space where you've stuck it on other pages.

The NO 1 REASON link at the top really should be eliminiated, unless they're paying you for that precious little bit of real estate. Is it really the first thing that you want your visitor to see and click? You're inviting your visitors to immediately leave your site. Once they're gone, they're unlikely to ever return.

Not all javascripts work on all browsers. Your call to an external script residing on codeamber.com, returns an onload error on the line that contains tickerexpandobj.document.write(tickercontentstotal );.

There's nothing that smacks of amateur quite like cheesy, free animated GIFs. The presence of such is a sure sign that the site was created on the cheap. Get rid of them if you want today's sophisticated web surfer to take you seriously.

Believe it when some pro tells you that, "if a site visitor doesn't see it before they have to reach for the scroll wheel (or scroll bar on the browser window), they're unlikely to be interested enough to look any further for the information they seek.

Default Thanks for the constructive comments!

I'm sure that it shows that I'm new at this. I just started in July 2003. I appreciate all of the input, and without the thoughts and ideas of seasoned individuals, I have nothing to guage my methods and techniques. I wanted to keep the design very simple and basic as apposed to all of the animations, music and graphics that tend to irritate me when surfing. Is basic the wrong way to go? Is it not easier on the eyes and the mind? I admit that one day, when I can afford it, I'd like to have a site professionally designed. Thanks again.
