Hey Everyone,
I just finished setting up an email newsletter system. I designed the newsletter and used the same template for the subscription pages. Could someone help me go over the system with a fine tooth comb to make sure that all of the pages contain the proper subscription links, everything is consistant, and is user friendly? The subscription section is here Subscribe to our Newsletters ( you don't have to subscribe. The forum took out the long link ) You can also view the newsletter by clicking the link on the top right column. Let me know what you think as far as the design, subscribe process, and usability of the site, the content and logo design. Thanks in advance.. John P. Hey John,
I really like the studiointeractive website, but got bored very quickly with the newsletter sign-up. There really wasn't enough information or insight into what I can expect to get from your newsletter. All the links seemed to work fine and it was easy enough to subscribe/unsubscribe to the newsletter. As a potential subscriber, I would want to know what separates your information from the thousands of other newsletters you can sign-up for without having to read the whole newsletter. I would think of maybe highlighting what will be featured in the next newsletter or providing a quick tip on the first page. I see in your latest newsletter the lead article is about Promoting your site for free. That is a very catchy article header and seeing something like that on the home page would definitely get my immediate attention. By highlighting the topics you will be discussing next, it can create a sense of curiosity and anticipation of maybe getting that one big tip they have been waiting for. I really like the logo design and color scheme you've chosen. kb K.B. Jewelers www.theicechest.com |

I'm gonna agree with the comment above. It's a little vague about why I should sign up for it.
With your type of 'improve your business' business, you're really, REALLY going to have to set yourself apart from the competition in order to get people to bite. I must get 10 'improve your business' and '20 secrets to success' emails on any given day, and frankly, don't give any of them a second glance before deleting them. The layout itself is okay...i like the colours. On to the newsletter itself. Have you done much testing in various email clients to see how your newsletter's going to look? Email newsletters are a BITCH to get to display consistently. Alistapart has a somewhat useful article on the topic. Hope this helps.

Hey,
Thanks for the comments.. Yes I'll be testing the hell out of it before the first issue goes out. I used to do Flash Newz for iEntry here, so I know newsletters and email clients VERY well. I see what you mean about it being vauge on the main page.. your right. there isn't much to catch users. HRM.. let me see what I can come up with. Thanks for the color and logo comments.. I was really happy with them.. Glad you all are too. Well let me see what I can do. I'm going to have to bypass PHPList's main page cuz it just duplicates the information on the actual subscribe page. I think i may change the focus a little bit to gear towards designers and freelancers in the business. I'm better at helping people that are like myself. Thanks again for those suggestions! John Paul

Did you test all of your website? I found number of links which are not working. More Articles
Planning for success Marketing Articles Business Tutorials Submit an article All of those arn't working. Contact us has no images displayed. You need to recheck your work before you let it loose. What is the purpose of this page? Studio Interactive . net - Web and Graphic Design - Orange County California Are you just promoting Adobe? Not that professional at all. If you call yourself a pro, do your work right first. |

Today I started this
Custom error pages::: Best practices. thread. Your 404.htm error page does not solve all (at least in IE 6.0) 404 error file not found problems. Example: http://www.studiointeractive.net/newsletter/something Some broken links there. Otherwise IMO, it seems like a good designed site worth putting in my link collection.

Hey everyone,
I fixed those links. They all go to the right places now.. I feel stupid for that. I forgot to update my CC with my server.. stupid mistake. Anyway, They are all working now. The page you asked about.... That page is to let people know what Products I use. I need to update the text on it, but the page isn't going anywhere. I get asked a lot what programs I use and thats where I send people that ask. It comes in handy and lets clients know that I'm not one of those guys that still uses front page. I've come up with the solution as to how I'm going to entice people to sign up for it. Most people will be coming from my StudioInteractive main pages, so I'll create some sales type intro for it. Also a LOT of companies just offer newsletters with signups on the main page without much description of the newsletter other than their archives. What do you all think? Thanks again for your feedback. John Paul
