Default www.foot.com - request for review

http://www.foot.com/

Please review if you have the time. I haven't done much posting but have been reading these boards for a couple weeks (maybe months, I can't keep track) and there seems to be a lot of knowledgeable people here. I'll try to take some time to start contributing to some reviews too. Thanks in advance!

Default response to www.foot.com

Hi Alex:

Very nice site. Lots of information. Where do you get the information from. Whenever I go to sites with this type of information, I just want to be reassured that it is truthful. I didn't look at the whole site, but I just wanted to say good going...

Thanks. We maintain relationships with several podiatrists and everything new that goes up is reviewed first. Most of the medical content is not new information honestly, but we recently redesigned the site and wanted to get some feedback on if anything seems cluttered, how is the navigation etc. There are 2 guys here who work with me. One guy does all the jsp and me and the other do the more visual and navigation design. Thanks for checking it out!

Agreed, great site! I love the image in the middle: "Your feet don't have to hurt!"

It sucks the eye right in and is such a glorious scene. The perfect place to start.

One issue I have is the links in the "learn more" section. Some of the longer names (like A'rch/Pain Strain,' 'Mortons Neuroma' and 'HIV & Your Feet') have individual words linked instead of the entire phrase (ie, 'Mortons' and 'Neuroma' are linked rather than 'Mortons Neuroma'). This is confusing as I initially thought the links were going to different plages within the same condition. Put the entire phrase within the same link tag.

Other than that, no suggestions. The site looks great!

Default Site Review

Great site only two things that I would suggest, one from a design standpoint, the other from a topic standpoint.

1.) Your page is designed for 800 x 600 resolution and in 1024 x 768 is left oriented on the monitor. Would be nice to see the page centered in 1024 or set up with a percentage based width so it adjusts to resolution settings. In report here on the forum 1024 x 768 resolution setting is holding a substantial portion of the viewing market, equal to or exceeding that of 800 x 600 resolution in essentially all stats reported. This is a rapidly growing market as 17 inch monitors become more affordable, and thus more commonly seen as the industry standard. Between the two, they comprised over 90% of the viewers seen on but a few site stats.

2.) On the topic side, you might elaborate further on how foot health affects your general health. That has long been a topic that interests many people.

Nice site otherwise, navigation was great, the site is clean, clear, and consise in providing loads of foot info. Have it bookmarked for future reference! Good work.

Default Very Good

I could not do better. My personal preference is for less colours, but thats all it is, a personal preference.

Default Nice site

Excellent job!,
Easy to move about, very informative, very professional look and feel about it.

My suggestions:

As rocky1 suggested on 1024 X 768 it is left orientated, try to center the page.

The highlight line around the menu system has an unfinished look about it, possibly the colour that's being used, you could go for the same tonal colour range possibly 3 or 4 shades darker than the actual menu itself.

No other suggestions actually.
