Hello,
First of all many thanks to webproworld.com because a year and more before the reviews about 9dir made me realize that I should work on it later on. 9dir.com was going really well in visitor’s number but as the administrator I wasn’t pleased of the last design I had made. I am near to end new 9dir.com : Free , Easy , Fast Directory design. I would appreciate any comment about it. New section as “featured” and “reciprocal” has been added and also the recent section is lying in a whole new php script that we made. Thank you in advance for your replies. Yours Kon Last edited by wsdk; 10-04-2008 at 09:04 AM. Reason: There wasn't a link |

I hate the animated country flag.
The top animated banner is distracting. The design is just not very exciting. I have no idea how one would use this site.

There is WAY too much info on that homepage. I think it would be easier on the viewer if each category was represented by a link on the homepage and then the viewer would pick links in a category they were interested in. I have to scroll too far down the page and I get over whelmed. I find that the two column centered text under each category is confusing since it seems to be read left to right between the columns in alphabetical order. Most people would expect it to go down one column then down the next. Also the site could use some more modern graphic design elements. The beveled links in the sidebar look dated and they should be "background-repeat: no-repeat;". In Firefox 3 I can see the next button peaking through because you've repeated the image along Y. There isn't enough contrast in the design (especially in some areas where the black font is on top of the blue gradient). You also might want to look into creating your directory list using ul's and li's, instead of using tables for your layout.
And finally, may I suggest that you take a look at other directories to get a feel of what works. There is a standard most viewers come to expect when it comes to element placement on the page. Hope that helps.. Alicia |
