Default Please review my resume website

Hey Everybody!

I run a little website over at www.interactive-resume.com, basically this site lets a user create a resume by filling out a form. I did a fair bit of work (I think) to get this site off the ground but have neglected it for other projects for almost a year.

I started doing some digging and this market has some crazy competition, google and yahoo PPC are wayyyy out of my price range for anything but the most obscure words.

So I am hoping you guys can have a look and see if I have missed something maybe give me some ideas on what to target or just some general feedback would be appreciated.

Cheers.

You provide no contact info other than e-mail. I personally never give my money to a site that doesn't provide a mailing address and phone.

Cost? There's no indication of how much your service costs without having to complete the form. If I wasn't reviewing your site, I would not have taken time to complete the form to discover how much it was going to cost me. What is the incentive for people to pay to use your service? It's not doing anything that I couldn't do myself for free with a computer with word processing software and information that is freely available on how to write and set up a resume.

You would be surprised, people are lazy by nature and many people haven't created a resume in years and have no idea where to start, this site gives them a template to work with and makes sure they know what should be in there.

Thanks for the input.

The site looks really nice. It's fast loading and has a very stylish and clean layout. I like the drop down menu's; unlike some others I have seen, they load immediately and do not drag out the navigation of the site. Good Job Man!

I agree with the prior comments about a mailing address and telephone. A price list up front would also make people feel a little more comfortable about using the site. Another "warm and fuzzy" would be to make sure your privacy policy explains how long you keep their resume data on your servers (since they have an account and can return and modify it), and that you won't distribute it.

Myabe someone could also advise me about the address/phone.

I run this site as a side project and I really don't want to give out my home phone or address. What options do I have there?

A PO Box in your town is good. In my town costs $70 a year for a small box. I don't necessarily agree you need a phone number.

It is a neat concept, but I think you will highly benefit by having different templates for resumes that populate the information that your visitors fill out using your forms. Bottom line is that resumes need to stand out. You also need to have sample resumes so people can see what you are offering before they go and fill out a lengthy form.

Good luck!

You have a small problem with the menu layout at the main page while the window size is less than 1024. the contact tab create a second line.

It's a good site with nice interface. I can't find any evident tribble.
