Hi,

This is my first post and I am new at this so any advice/criticism you can give will really help me.

This site has been up for about 9 months now and I need help getting it optimized for search engines as well as some tips on how to boost my conversion rate.

After reading some of the posts on this forum I realize that I may have made a big mistake last week by changing the title on the homepage. I have noticed a drop in traffic of about 35% over the last week and I'm wondering if changing the title may have been the cause because I can no longer find my site on google. Whatever the reason for the drop in traffic I want to get if fixed asap so that I will not need to go back and change anything again in the future and risk losing traffic again.

I have been using the tool found at SEO Workers Search Engine Optimization Analysis Tool to optimize the front page. I am new at SEO so if there is anything in particular you see with the site that could be improved please let me know.

Well a few things caught my eye

1. When you click to view a larger image it opens in the same window. People tend to close the site when trying to close the window. A mouse hover or a pop-up window would be better.

2. On your left nav bar you have two empty boxes that are linked.

3. Same nav bar, your hover of the bullet hole makes the link hard to read. Maybe make the hover smaller so it appears to the left on the link.

4. On the main page the image on the dark background is hard to see. Also when you click that link the lower image is blurry and not readable.

5. All of your "home links" link to the index.html file where the link in your post links to .com/ . This could lead to duplicate content issues.

6. You have a canonicalization issue that needs fixing.

7. The copyright at the bottom needs fixing "Copyright � 2007"

8. The <title> on the main page looks to be stuffed with the word Airsoft.

9. You have <h1 id="specialstitle">Featured Products</h1> Why have Featured Products in a header tag? I would put <h1> Welcome to AirsoftStation.com! </h1>

10. Rethink your html names. I do not think gsabltapa.html will help you much. Maybe gsabl-tactical-Pants.html

11. Your meta description looks to be the same on every page. This needs to be fixed.

12 I did not see meta keywords on any page except for the main page. Some search engines still use them.

13. Your sitemap.xml file does not meet the 0.9 standards. Google adheres to the 0.9 protocol.

14. Your site is not reporting a 404 error on pages not found.

I do run a site that deals with the same manufactures you do. This makes it so you are competition to me, but I still tried to give an honest review.

For better conversion I'd move the phone number into the header and increase the width of the page.

I'd also move the navigation into the same space that the page search is, below the header.

I'd do some work on the photos and make the background blend into the page. However if they turn out like your top picture you may need to change the background color of the site to a lighter color so the pictures are easer to see.

I'd also move your products into the text rather than at the bottom of the page.

Thank for your comments, they were definitely taken into consideration and some have been implemented.

I am strongly considering switching to a top-navigation page layout for Airsoft Station. The only reason I am hesitant to do so is because I think it will be too cluttered with so many categories.
