Question New Page vs Old Page Compare - What's your opinion?

We have been rewriting our copy and changing how the text is layed out, where reviews are posted etc.

I would like to get an idea of what everyone thinks of the new vs. the old.

Hi adenjo,

I think the new paragraph headings make for much more interesting reading. The original was like reading the spec sheet.

The new paragraph headings are using some keywords which makes good SEO sense, however when I searched the code I found that only the h2 tag was being used. Why not use heading tags for all of the paragraph headings since they are now incorporating keywords?

Even though the headings have been improved I somewhat liked the original page better and I think it has to do with the images along the right.

The page uses the full screen and as the page is scrolled down there is only the very center text with nothing filling the void on either side.

Both versions seemed rather long and I was wondering why the features and specifications don’t have a page of their own. Even the testimonials could have a dedicated page. Then the left, right and center content might be easier to balance and be most appealing.

Can you elborate on what you mean by using heading tags?

I agree with you here. Something is missing over there on the right. I have decided to add the picture back in the future. I also changed the font and wonder if the arial font is more readable than a serif font? Seems to look cleaner to me.

I guess when designing these pages, I was thinking about the user having to click on as few pages as possible. However, you may have something here that I might try. I would need to be careful with the quotes since the newer products will have few if any quotes in the beginning so perhaps a dedicated page is not appropriate. But a seperate page for specs and features might be good.

The heading tags outline the page content. Search engines use text in the heading tags to establish keyword importance. It is good that you have included keywords in the headings of the new page. Now you need to use the tags which identify them as headings for the spiders.

Defines the heading tags:
HTML H1 TO H6 TAG

Styling the heading tags with CSS:
HTML STYLE TAG

Validating the source code:
The W3C Markup Validation Service
If you check the box for ‘Show Outline’ the results of the heading tags will be displayed at the bottom of the validation page.

The focus of the microphone is the screen. I suggest you show only that in the header image. The current representation is a little to abstract and distracting.

Center the body elements or at least create a laft margin. Your menu items ar too close to the edge.

Otherwise the design works well.
