| Submit Your Site For Review Need a fresh set of eyeballs to take a look at your site? Have a specific issue or question about some aspect of your layout, design or interface? This is the forum for you. When submitting your site, be sure to discuss what aspect you are looking for input on. Just posting a link with the word 'review' isn't appropriate. |

Hey again,
just posted another new site today. Looking for feedback on usability, any SEO areas of improvement, and whatever else you'd like to say. Disclaimer: I know it's not perfect in IE6.0. I have limited access to this browser and have done what I can to make it passable. Thanks! |

That's a kick@55 logo!
It's a simple clean layout that's fast loading with a colour scheme perfectly tailored to the intended audience. Nice site! Couple things though: The description needs some tweaking to get your most targeted words first in the string. Quote:

Nice simple cart. Me likey! Product pages need some SEO work to get product info into the querystring. For example, adding "&item=water_bottle" might be helpful. .02

You can include 3-4 attributes in the URL, include them in your sitemap and Google will see them. If, from your cart's perspective, the only real attribute that matters is the item id, you can tag on whatever you want and it doesn't matter how the user bookmarks it. For example, check this out: Brother TN-350 I've set up my product listings to tag on the item name. As I said, it doesn't matter to the cart scripts that there are extra attributes in the querystring but it helps in the SERPs because I've appended relevant keywords for a search query that users might likely use. In the following example, the top url is the generic link generated by the cart by default and the second contains the appended "item" attribute. HTML Code:
http://www.inkjetoasis.ca/shopexd.asp?id=218 http://www.inkjetoasis.ca/shopexd.asp?id=218&item=Brother_TN-350

A couple of off-hand reactions:
- make your action points for conversions more prominent. I come to your site and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do unless I read and all I want to do is scan. It takes me a while to find the program schedules and sign up info, and figure out that there's an online store. You could for example place a button that stands out that says 'sign up today' - place contact info on all pages. I would place the contact info on the footer or at the bottom of the left nav so it appears on all pages - it's predictable, gives you credibility and makes it less frustrating for users who are trying to figure out if this business is relevant to them or who are trying to get in touch with you. Cheers. |
