Default Please review my site.

Hi all

I would appreciate some feedback on my site Holiday Home Rental Accommodation From Owners Worldwide.

The website is a "holiday rental" advertising site, where owners advertise their rental property and holidaymakers look for a property to rent for their holiday/vacation.

Its been live since about January, untill May I had some good keywords such as "holiday rental" and "holiday rentals" on page 4-6 of Google, then all of a sudden they disapeared completely from Google searches, I still have plenty of pages indexed but cannot find any using searches on Google.

Any ideas welcome.

Regards
Andy

I would reduce the countries in the pull-down list to those where you actually have rentals. For example, North Korea. You also have Nicaragua in the list twice (pre- and post-Sandinista, I presume).

Your homepage has the appearance of keyword spamming with the long lists of locations.

There is no question that you being penalized by Google. I searched on "villa rentals in Greece" [no quotes] and your site is not in the top 600. Oops.

I am not an expert about this, but I think the problem is all the IDENTICAL links you have on each page.

I think Dave is again spot on.Looking though your site from page to page they only change by 8 or so words. Then also linking the "home" back to holidayhomelistings.com/index.php and not to http://www.holidayhomelistings.com you duplicated the entire site.

Results 1 - 1 of 1 linking to http://www.holidayhomelistings.com/index.php
I can see you PR dropping from a 4 down to a 1 or 0 on the next go round as well.

Thanks for the comments:

I have changed the home link from .com/index.php to just .com

I have removed the link box(worldwide holiday rentals) from all pages exept the main page.

A lot of the country links from the main page have descriptions such as:

Holiday rentals france - Thousands of french holiday rentals for your summer holidays already have their own text...

The rest of the country/region links will also be getting their own text.

I did not realise that there were duplicate countries, i will remedy that.

When my site was getting page 4-6 results for the keywords I mentioned earlier it was the same as it is now (or was before I made the changes) why would it get penalised when I had not made any changes, would it not have given me results to start with?

How do I find out if Google has penalised my site? and why? so that I can fix any problems, I contacted (a couple of weeks after my keyword searches disapeared) them through the site reconsideration tool in site maps but heard nothing back (6-7) weeks ago. This was the only way I could find to get in touch with them.

Thanks for any help
Andy
