Default Please review a website for a Consulting company

Hi all,

My last website review experience here was quiet interesting for my PMO website (VIREV Project Management Office). However, I am requesting the same critique on my other website, Patronus International Services Patronus International Services, LLC. I have just completed its first phase of integration with the Virev PMO. This integration will allow all applicants at Patronus to be registered with Virev PMO as well. The next release of Virev will include the ability for all applicants to apply and manage their application from within Virev PMO while learning and practicing the basics of Project Management and considering their job search as a project on its own.

Your valuable comments will be greatly appreciated!

Ditch the stock photos.
Get customer photos. Don't hide the fact that you are (mostly) a Pakastani company.

Content is good.

Externalize your style sheets.
Too many words in keywords meta tag. The latest rule of thumb is 8 terms.
Your title tag should be company name + benefit statement and should be < 66 characters.

Dave,

Thanks for your review and valuable suggestions. I have modified the keywords and description meta tags, significantly reduced but still couldn't bring it below 66 characters

Our offshore development center is in Pakistan but we are not a Pakistani company. We are registered here in Illinois and will be conducting most of our business in the Chicago area. I will try to get some customer photos but don't have any at the moment.

It would be nice if it were tabless and validated.

Like Dave, I have problems with the stock photos and especially the clip-art logo. The guy running and spilling his papers is not very positive and the style is out of step with the rest of the site.

Duplicating top and left side menus seem unnecessarily complicated - especially as the home page has a different side menu??

Hey Paul,

Great suggestions...Thank You! Help me understand what you mean by tabless?

I know the logo needs improvement, just not sure what to make :-/

Also, can you explain what you mean by "Duplicating top and left side menus seem unnecessarily complicated." The home page side menu is just to point the visitor to some of the highlighted pages. I use Ultra Menu builder software and it makes the menus easy to make. I'll check the validation. Thank you!

A search here of 'tables v ccs' will reveal the answer. Essentially tables are for complex lists and not for positioning in HTML. But as the site is done there is little to be gained from learning the technique and redoing the site without tables.

Menus are made for users to navigate easily - not to be make life easy for you! It is not intuitive to have a top menu and have it duplicated on the left - and call the home page one 'Most Wanted' means nothing. In short it's confusing...
