| Submit Your Site For Review Need a fresh set of eyeballs to take a look at your site? Have a specific issue or question about some aspect of your layout, design or interface? This is the forum for you. When submitting your site, be sure to discuss what aspect you are looking for input on. Just posting a link with the word 'review' isn't appropriate. |

Fantastic site, I love the concept. My first thought was of a parent and child sitting at the computer exploring the world together. There should be more sites like this.
A couple things to improve. Center the site on the page. I'm seeing it in ie8 justified to the left. Optimize the images a little better the file sizes are a little large for the dimensions. I think you could easily take 30-40% off the files sizes without compromising quality. Looking forward to seeing where you take us next.

hey mtheory
Thanks for this. You don't know how great it is for us to get words of encouragement like this and you got it exactly right. The site is far more for parents and kids than for schools but this is also our downfall - there isn't , at least not here in New Zealand, much funding for it and we were strugling over the last few years trying to do the impossible. Neither of us is a website designer and we learned everything on our mistakes. Is there a piece of code we can include which will centre the site on the page? We wil take your comment about the size of pictures into account when we download new immages and, time permitting, we will change the old ones too. You see I have no idea if this is the way a professional webmaster does it but for us it means opening every photo in a photoshop and saving for web in lower quality so it's a bit of work. Where we take you next will entirely depend on funding we get. Sofar we had some help from British governement and we are just running out of our personal saving which we put into the project so we will need to find someone rich and nice to send Teddy somewhere I have been to your website, it's brilliant. Once, maybe, we will be able to do something similar. We still have a lot to do on the Teddy site, there is the whole section Be my friend where we would like to have a very simple to use CMS where kids can help teddy write pages and would tell him and other kids about their culture. The problem is that, as we want it to be really easy, it is actually really difficult to do. Well for us at least as we are not that brainy in the matters of the high tech web design. Teddy is not either and he doesn't seem to care. Too bad to have an associate who is 20 cm long and thinks all will happen on its own Oh, is the way we are saving the pics and videos ok and would the search enggeens pick it up? cheers ev |
