Overall I like it, one suggestion, show a picture of the exterior of the facility at least at some point.

Very nice work!

Just a couple of things to consider for SEO

1. The title is too repetitious and could be more descriptive and enticing. IMO it should contain ‘Alberta’ as well as the hotel name.

2. The W3C Markup Validation Service Congrates!, the page validates however if you check the box for Show Outline you will notice that the outline could be better organized. The <h4> heading tag is the only tag being used and it is used more than once.

These tags are important for good search engine optimization. They can be styled and if style is to be applied use CSS so the spiders recognize them as heading tags.

The page headings are images and those should be within the <h1> tag. I am not sure how the validator handles an image in these tags but it would be worth a try to see if the “alt” or “title’ text is pulled for the outline and if they are then make sure they have your keywords in them. Then the current text being used as <h4> could be used with the next consecutive tags, styled however you like of course.

Again, it looks great!

Very well done. The only thing that bothered me was the unnesessary, over the top animations in the photo gallery. It really contradicts the simple elegance of the rest of the site.

A good rule of thumb. The only time to use "bells and whistles" on a site is when they don't come across as just "bells and whistles".

yup, swap out the coffeeshop image for one of your hotel.

Couple issues that'll cut you off at the knees if not resolved immediately:

HTML Code:
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>Grande Prairie Inn Hotel Inn Grande Prairie Hotel, Grande Prairie Hotels, Hotel in Grande Prairie | Amenities</title>
<meta name="description" content="Whether you are in Grande Prairie for business, shopping or pleasure, The Grande Prairie Inn is sure to guarantee affordable prices, convenience and a comfortable stay. We are located next to the Prairie Mall and in the heart of down town Grande Prairie." />

<meta name="robots" content="All,INDEX" />
<meta name="classification" content="travel/accommodations/hotels" />
<meta name="rating" content="General" />
<meta name="language" content="en-us" />
Pardon my French, but ho-lio-key-rapp, Batman! Hats off the Überspammer that composed the meta tags! They're entirely too long to be effective in any way whatsoever and the title could be trimmed as well.

You've also got some redundant information and, unless you've done it intentionally, you're specifying that the site content is written in US english versus Canadian english. There's a better way to do this.

Here's what I'd recommend as a starting point:

HTML Code:
<html lang="en-CA">
<title>Hotels in Grande Prairie, AB : Grande Prairie Inn</title>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<meta name="description" content="Located in down town Grande Prairie, we offer affordable room rates with convenient meeting rooms plus wireless internet, pool, hot tub, hair salon, spa & sauna." />
<meta name="keywords" content=" grande prairie, alberta, hotels, affordable, rates, business, meeting rooms, reservations, amenities" />
<meta name="classification" content="travel/accommodations/hotels" />
<meta name="copyright" content="Copyright © 2008 Grande Prairie Inn, All Rights Reserved"/>
<meta name="modified" content="2008-05-28"/>
Try to keep your page title under 70 characters
Restrict your meta description around 160 characters.

To build relevance, keep titles and meta descriptions short, descriptive and focused. Use targeted words and phrases that are well supported by your pages and site content.

With regard to keyword selection, I'd assume that clients would be most interested in features, prices and location. Try to limit your keywords to between four and eight. Bear in mind that the fewer there are, the more focused and effective they become.

Focus on those elements in your site content, link text and page titles. Each page should focus on different words and phrases but again, make sure the page content and links support the word/phrases.

This is pretty pointless as well:
HTML Code:
alt="Welcome to the Grande Prairie Inn" title="Welcome to the Grande Prairie Inn"
If you feel compelled to use alt and title attributes, at least make them different. The alt attribute should describe the image, as should the title. Both should use keywords if they're descriptive and relevant to the image.

Caveat:
Do not attempt to incorporate meta keywords or a meta description that your page and site content does not support. That's spammy and likely to be counter productive.

If you're not located in Cow Town, don't expect to rank well in Calgary, if you're not the Days Inn, Sandman, Motel 8 or Holiday Inn, don't waste your time and credibility trying to rank for those terms. You simply can't get there unless your content and links incorporate those references. Those days are long gone.

Try to build inbound links using a keyphrase like "Hotels in Grand Prairie Alberta" and title your pages appropriately, according to the link text and content on each page.

You might consider adding <h1> headings to each page instead of using images for the page heading. In terms of SEO, they're more valuable than a simple image.

Top left corner:
Place your toll-free phone number where clients can see it.

Contact page:
Implement a proper contact email form instead of relying on a "mailto:" link. It's just so much more credible and professional.

Hey, I would like to say that it is all good and most of the site is spot on. My one issue is the flash photo gallery. From the point of view of the user of the site, and stepping back as a programmer, the gallery is made to impress a 13 - 18 year old demographic while the people who book at hotels and inns are around 25 - 40+, so I would think about KISS (Keep It Simple ....) one rule of good clean design (which the rest of the site relies upon to be successful) is that everything is there for a reason. For the photo gallery, I think you would be better off having it quick and easy to use and getting rid of the thumbnails rebuilding the image every single time. (I could only get through one image before I left the page).

Everything else is good, so don't take my post the wrong way, I just think the flash photo gallery is far from being user friendly.
