K im a major noob
to the whole web design field, i learned how to code in html back in high school, LOOOOONG time ago well only 5 years ago but i wasnt good then and not now apparently. Lotta stuff changed since then. Basically though i have a huge problem that ive been trying to fix with very little knowledge. This is like trying to build a house with only the experience of living in one. Heres my problem: http://www.DaveTheJerk.com Theres the site, big problem is that it displays PERFECTLY in Mozilla FireFox, but in IE its got a HUGE gap of space. IM ripping out the hairs on my head googling this problem looking for a quick fix and this is my last resort. I really hope someone can help me. Thanks in advance for your suggestions, help, flamming. I dont even know if im posting in the right section if not please move my post admin/moderator. |

where exactly is the gap of space? i see some near the bottom in both IE and Fx.
But, on with my analysis... 1) What's the point of your website? I've been looking at it for like 2 minutes, and I still have no idea. (That's a rhetorical question, by the way...) 2) The word-cloud thing on the lower-right just doesn't fit. I'd remove it. 3) Can I assume you used DreamWeaver or some editor to write your code? The source code looks terrible when I view it in a browser. 4) Speaking of code... you've got 169 errors when put through the W3C validator. And you wonder why things don't display correctly between Fx and IE? 5) Why exactly do you have Google ads on your site? Your site has no real purpose (i.e. you're not selling anything or talking about anything in particular) I actually find it amazing Google approved you to display the ads in the first place. Basically, I'm telling you to find some direction. Is this a blog? Talk about something SPECIFIC. If you do that, the site will immediately be a lot better. But also check the W3C errors... it will be a great learning experience for you to see why various parts of your code are not working. |
