Hi, I have just made a website for preschool kids featuring games such as jigsaw puzzles, memory matching and coloring book.

Blue Cow Games - Fun, online games for kids

I would like some feedback about the site design and the kids games. It would be great if you could let your kids have a play of the games.

Thanks a lot.

I like the design of the site and it's easy to navigate. But neither the puzzle or the coloring games worked.

Very nice clean design, the games all worked well for me. However, I doubt if Google will honour many/any clicks on these pages.

Looks good to me. I tried the jigsaw game. My first instinct was to click-drag the mouse, which didn't work. But when I clicked once, the dropshadow appeared & I realized I could then move the piece. This was my experience, I'm not sure if a child would do it that way or not.

On the matching game, if you happened to get the match correct on the first try, the cards dissapear immediately. It would be better if the matching cards showed for at least a second before disapearing.

Can you please try updating your Flash Player at Adobe - Adobe Flash Player If this does not resolve the problem please let me know.

I originally developed the games for my daughter who is 3. She found the drag and drop for the jigsaw puzzles to be too difficult, so I tried the pick and drop method which she found much easier.

I am aware of the problem with the memory game and that is top of my list to fix.

Thanks again.

that was good and clean. all activities worked for me. i was once dealing with exactly the typical activities based cds. i love doing this and this one is also great. try to include similair jigsaw for maps and countries with little detail. also the print option will be good idea for the colouring.
need any ideas, message me.
thanks and good effort.

Getting the Flash Player update did the trick.

Blue Cow Games,

I'd say that, while the site worked for me, it won't for everyone. That being the case, you might well consider scripting in a detector on page load to check for the flash player, or the a compatible version thereof.

If the user can't see your content, the script can give them a link to update their Flash Player.

My son played on your site for a while and became frustrated. He plays online all the time, and has since he was 18 mo old. He needed a lot of adult interaction to work the games on the site, which HE didn't like - he likes when he can figure out the game himself.

His take on the whole thing was that the games weren't "ready" for him yet. (Mom is a webdesigner, so he's familiar with the whole - test this for me - concept.)

He's 5 and is a developing reader in skill level 1+ reading and 1 math.

I decided I will play some of the games tomorrow and see what I think and give you MY feedback as well, but since he was hot to tell you right now before bed, I figured I'd log in and drop you a note.

Thanks for all your efforts,

jg

Thanks for all the feedback. I will be adding a print option to the colouring book soon. I agree that I need to add some detection for the flash plugin.

I am a bit puzzled what aspects of the games your son found difficult? More information on this would be great.

Thanks.
