Excellent site!

Nice lay out, fast loading, nice colors,(easy on the eyes) and it made me laugh. I spent a lot of time here and I added it to my favorites and will visit it again.

Ok, your site made me laugh (in a good way) so that should be sufficient testimony of its merits.

Overall: Nice color scheme, pleasant organized layout, easy navigation, nice visuals and a lot of fun content.

Plusses: The first site I've seen in days that has actually got the "text box" style of web page design down to a fine art.

N30,
Awesome site. I love the layout, colors, and the content is great.

The only thing I could suggest would be to change out the image of the girl pointing in the different catagories to show some distinction between the different areas of the site. Like a woman reading a book for the books page, maybe a person rocking out with headphones for the music section, etc.

Great job.

When you click on "Fun Links" the page shifts about once space to the right. All the other links are centered.

When that is the biggest problem with your website, I'd say you've done a good job.

Nice site, clean and easy to read...

There's a lot of information there, i hope you're able to keep it all up to date!

I was almost going to question the use of yellow links on the top right - but then i rolled over them and they disappeared, so they do what they're supposed to!

Hi N30

After you reviwed my site I thought I'd take a look at yours. First impression was "tickle site" I wonder what he's selling there (feathers/promo for a new game?).

I had just logged onto it as a conservative guess 10 seconds before I started laughing.

Quantas.... Hilarious!!!

I've added it to my favourites and will definitely be going back often.

Brilliant site... absolutely fabulous

If this site had one of those rolling / laughing smilies, I'd use it about now.

Normally, I would avoid using the 'no right clicky' effect, but I dunno, it kind of adds to the site with its message. It can get just kind of annoying and doesn't really achieve you any security what so ever. ;)

Also, I would suggest centering the footer text. (Tickle Site ©2003 Black Square Internet Services)

Thanks for your comments Dawson.

The no right click is there for a bit of amusement tbh, I know it's easy to bypass but it seemed like a good idea to stop casual right clickers ;)

It's all good fun but I may remove it in the future when I implement a bit of flash to replace the section images for more appropriate ones.

Glad you found it funny :D

Just wondering, but who is that chica featured on about every page and how is it relevant to your tickle site?

Are you just applying the fact 'sex sells' in terms of getting guys to look at your site?

The woman in the section headers is just a sample image until a photo shoot can be arranged to replace her with relevant photos of Tickle herself.

Tickle is my partner in the Ticklesite adventure and the hostess of tickle's site as it were ;)

Ahh I see. Lol, no, I'm not trying to get a date or whatever. Just wondering. =)

But now I know, and now you know that I know, and I know that you know that I know, and... You get the point.

^_^

I'm wondering though, is there anything that you personally don't like or want to change but don't know what or how?

Well I'm glad that's sorted lol.

Due to some access problems we've moved IP addy so my apologies if it hasn't resolved yet.

I'd really like the opinions of a few more ladies if possible once the net catches up with us that is...

Thanks in advance ;)

Site looks good. 60 something K or so is a little bit big but it loads fairly fast. you could kill the fireworks and dreamweaver tags. The only thing that I saw was a bit redundant was the blurred image of the lips right near the very top. I would just get rid of it as it lowers the site's content.

Personally, I like the lips in the top. I wouldn't get rid of them.

And who ever said I'm a guy? You are implying that from the fact that I asked who that 'chick' was on your site.

You don't know how I hang, so don't assume it. ;)

Lol, anyways. I think your sizing down tickle.jpg when you have it on your page from what the actual file size is. You should just make it be that size and stick with it. :)

On insert.jpg it seems it has a slight bluish background. I think that background should match the rest of the page. :)

I agree with Elite on the blur header pic. It does lower your content, not too big of a deal since it's a scrolly site but it is alot of real-estate where one's eye falls naturally. Consolidating the image with some of the above text would help with the use-of-space rule. Nice site B.T.W.

LOL THAT CAT IS HILARIOUS!

Ok. On to what I'm posting on. I believe that having that header there adds balance to your site. (Sound like a Jedi or something, don't I?) But its true. If it wasn't there, it would kind of be text overload, and you always want to have a nice balance between the two.

To reach a consensus (sp?) however, I would suggest moving the purplish text "«ticllesite»" and "i like...day..." down into the that image and making them white, so that it would make that image appear to be more in place while also moving the content up more?

Does that seem good to you guys? (and to you N30?)

Oh yeah, and you have two links to the home page right next to eachother in your horizontal menu, kinda redundant. :) (Tickle Site and Home, or so I remember..)

Hi N30,

Very goo site, clean and clear. the only comment I would make is the same as Elite Skills, I would change the mouth/smile at the top of every pages to something different, may be pics of the lady/woman relatd to the section you're in.

God job and I really like the penguin game ;)

The first few layouts of tickle did have white text over the lips image but a lot of my sites end up like that so I thought I'd try something different for a change and I think it works as it is.

Yes I did assume that you're a guy Dawson I have to admit LOL was I wrong in that assumption???

Thanks everyone for your input I will bear them in mind.

Yes yes yes.

Wouldn't change a thing. This site is a wonderful example of how lots of information should be layed out with easy navigation.

I will reference this site in the future.

Great layout, nice and clean site. The only very small comment I could make is that the font size is slightly to small (on 1280X1024).. The rest is great ! Ever considered redoing the site in CSS ? That would make it load even faster and I think the layout is very well suited for CSS.

Cheers,
Mike.

Well I am finally reviewing your "ticklesite" as promised... and I even fit the "woman" criteria!

I think the site is really well done, very clean and professional. So I am scraping the bottom of the barrel with tiny observations that may or may not help further...

I agree that the blurred lips pic in the header doesn't seem quite up to scratch as the rest of the site. I like the idea of the header, but that particular image didn't "do" much for me.

Maybe I am wrong, but the "pastelly" purples seem to me to be aimed at more of a female audience... While I can't say to hold the average womans view (I am ll but average) I kinda felt it was a bit too "washed out" for my taste. Somehow for a lighthearted "humorous" site I expected slightly more "fun" colours...

On the flip side, the colours at present are really relaxing and non threatening and if you did adjust them I wouldn't go far, but maybe a bit of contrast of variation mught add a bit of "zing" (technical term) to the page...

I love it, and yes, I too have added it to my "favourites!"

Tania

P.S. I love the logo!

Thanks for the review Masterpeace ;)

You're right of course, TickleSite is aimed a predominently female audience but not exclusively.

I had hoped it would be viewed as a lunchtime site where visitors can relieve a boring day in the office but at the same time be welcoming.

Further development is required so watch for the changes coming soon ;)

Thanks for reviewing my site, I in turn visited yours. Very attractive, it loaded fast and displays nicely. The colors are appealing to me - with so much text on the page, often people use too loud of colors and then I get overwhelmed. Your site seems to have hit the right balance.

One tiny grammatical nitpick: on your home page, 2nd paragraph, it says "Then there's my money earners," People do this constantly, and for those of us who care about correct grammar, it is disconcerting.

"there's" is the contraction of "there is", which is singular. You are referring to "money earners" which are plural. To be correct, you would say "Then there are my money earners".

Great site.

Cheri

I like the site and the colors and much of the content are geared towards a female persona.. except lingerie. I think that lingerie is for a male more than female.

I love the graphics.. very "kewl" and crisp!
