Default website critique

Positives:

Nice, low-key color scheme, some innovative graphics
Once I got to Home Page, it was easy to navigate
You have a good basic design to begin with, but some changes need to be implemented.

Concerns:

The Flash did not inform me that I was at an IT solutions site. Since I'm not interested in IT (yet), I could have left sooner. I would add "IT Solutions" during the Flash presentation.

Once the Flash movie stopped, I had to wait a long time before the Welcome page came up. When it finally did, a graphic was missing.

While the appearance of this site is pleasing, it has a somewhat "canned" appearance and not very original.

In your source code, I do not see a MetaDescription or any keywords. While not all search engines pay attention to these sections of the code, others do.

Your title does nothing to reveal what your business is all about, and it is so important that you have that information included in your source code "Title."

I also do not see any ALT tags, those short sentences or paragraphs that describe what your graphics look like, or represent. These are important not only for those who have their graphics turned off as they browse the net, but also for the visually impaired.

Site Map: I think you have relied too heavily on this page to provide informative links. You should expand on your links to include the other valuable information you have on your site. The site map is only to show the website setup and navigation, and shouldn't be used in place of descriptive links.

I see no Links on your site to and from relevant reciprocal links. You will need them if you hope to gain any business through search results by those who are seeking IT services. Without these, you may not ever be found!

I hope my suggestions have been of some help to you.

Default grasshopper

It was kinda off-putting going to a dull colored flash introduction. which still took awhile to load up. Sadly not everyone is as patient. With such a funky name as patient grasshopper I really expected the site to have some cute cartoony button links etc.

Overall I thought it was a good informative site with proper, solid info.

I wasn't too impressed by the logo. It didn't appear on every page. On the pages that I did see it it looked fuzzy, as though it was being shown at the wrong size. I think a sharper logo would be worth considering. I wouldn't go for a "cute" type logo. I think you're trying to project a business-like image and a nice clean, neat logo would help.
The title tag on the home page just says "home". I would change that to "I.T. Solutions by Patient Grasshopper" or something like that to give the search engines something to nibble at.

Hello there!

I also enjoyed the low-key colors - a nice match for the company name (although the company name a difficult match for the industry).

After the flash, I was a little disappointed to see an uninspired home page with a fuzzy logo. I'd like to see you "jazz up" the page header and incorporate the logo (instead of using it as an enlarged watermark on the page).

I would hit a stock photo site (e.g. istockphoto.com) for inexpensive graphics to replace the clip art you used on your homepage.

The rest of the "interior" pages were fine. I am not a fan of the color green on the web. Your site is the first site I actually enjoyed in green. You chose an awesome shade...

Good luck to you!

Howdy! :)

I want to ask you first off, what does your company name mean to your customers? What do you want it to mean? How does it tie in with IT solutions? That is something that needs to be very clear. A company name is everything. Google wouldn't be nearly as popular if the name was tomjoad.com. That wouldn't make any sense for a search engine! =)

Anyways. I would suggest that you take your actual logo and shrink it just a bit (not the stretched one you show, but the actual

and stick it in the header to the left of your company name. That will look much better (make sure you do it on every page)

Also, we shouldn't need to have the menu labeled navigation. ^ ^ That is redundant and doesn't look all that good. I would suggest making the menu connect with the header and stretch to the bottom, if you know what I mean...

When you click on 'about us' it changes the menu entirely and from the looks of it gives you no clear way back, this is baaad! =)

Anyways. Hope this helps. :)
