Default My DJ Music Library

Hey there Friends,

I am a wedding DJ on Long Island NY Long Island Wedding DJ for your Elegant Wedding - Alegria DeeJays Simple Elegant Entertainment

I used to have my music listed on this website. The traffic was amazing but not related to my DJ business. I noticed people were coming to my website specifically to search through my music lists. Probably looking for songs to download.

I couldn't get the right kind of traffic for my DJ company. So I've removed the music lists and placed them on an old domain name I wasn't using since my ebay selling days.

I've created a new Music Library. I used to sell music to DJs and collectors. now I've created over 100 pages of music lists, alongside I've put in Google adwords and affiliates.

I know I have to tweak the look and placement of ads. I probably have to do some more html work. I'm already getting a hundred hits a day.

What can do with this traffic? What can I sell for profit?

Nice website,

you can use your site to promote your services, you can sell adspace (put a banner telling for this), put affiliates for selling dwnloadable music, and for sure google adwords.
I recommend to use rectangle adds on the main body of the website and not the links or the vertical banners

Before I get started please don't be offended by the harshness of my critique. It is sincerely meant to be constructive.

A very nostalgic website. Brings me back to 1999. Should be a hit with the geriatrics not well versed in internet workings or offerings.

If your looking to sell entertaiinment to the wedding market you should reevaluate your understanding of the demographc.

These are young web savvy internet users accusutomed to an internet filled with dynamic and entertaining websites.

You're trying to sell entertainment. Try making your site entertaining. Add some video clips of you in action. Put a couple testimonials on the front page instead of buried as thumbnails in an inner page.

Loose the music lists. Too "fluffy". Any dj worth his//her salt has a well rounded library, it's a given. It goes a lot further if you simply state you have all the standard music and would be glad to work with the client to arrange special requests to suit their needs.

Edit I think you wanted a review of your second site mentioned in your post. I reviewd your dj site mentioned first.

You have a very nice professional looking site.

I did see some things that caught my eye that you may want to consider.

* On your testimonials.htm. The newest one is from 2006. This may make people shy away as it looks like you have not done a wedding in two years. They are surveys that people fill out afterwards, and since most if not everyone would fill them out, it makes it look this way or looks like they were not happy so you did not post them.
* On that same page, the text next to the image looks off as some wrap under the image. This moves your See Details button making the page look unprofessional.
* Consider putting a 'Home' button on your main nav bar. The one at the top is small and easy to miss.
* The only place you mention anything besides weddings is on your Quote page where you mention birthday parties and company picnics, etc. You may want to make a landing page just for these and make your 'Services' button a drop down menu that links to the appropriate landing page for the type of event. Your heavy concentration on weddings is fine, but you may be missing the boat on other money making events.
* On your music map page. Your 'Instant Quote' button between 'Disco' and 'Jazz' looks out of place and the one at the bottom looks the same. Maybe move the top one to the middle of the page on a row by itself and the bottom one at the bottom centered? Right now they look like they are floating in the middle of nowhere.
* On your main page on the right hand side you have listed additional services. The arrows make it appear, and one would assume, that these would be links leading to pages that describe the additional services. The only description I found of them is on your quote page. You may want to consider making a page that describes your additional services.

Hey there,
Thanks for the good advice. I'm really trying to find out what to do with the WakWax site

Music Library

I'm hoping to get some ideas what I can do the traffic, and what I else I can sell from my library listings.
I'm getting thousands of hits on my latin lists and I'd like to get some $ from them.

I'm happy with the wedding website and recieve enough work and traffic for my weddings. OF course, I'd love to add more to the wedding site, mtheory. I chjecked your site and I might call for some Ideas. Thanks

Hmm so I looked at the wrong site. Go figure

But looking at your other site, if you're getting that many hits from unique visitors then I would suggest maybe tracking down some affiliate programs and also maybe track down a supplier of music related items like band t-shirts / posters and add a store to your site. If you wanted to go hog wild you could even add links to the bands home pages, post latest news about the bands, find and join affiliates that sell DJ equipment or music equipment. You could even start a blog or forum that is strictly music based as to where and who has the best prices, concert updates, etc.

There are many many things you could do.

Just remember if you make it, they will come, if you make it right they will stay.
