It would have been nice if you had provided a URL ... I am assuming that it is:

http://www2.baguiocity.com

It's a nice professional looking site. Lots of things of local interest. I don't really know your home city enough to comment on the contents and your City Profile section is not complete.

Overall: Looks good, but boring unless you enjoy reading newspaper articles online.

Default website critique

This is probably a personal reaction, but I do not care for cluttered web pages. There is just too much to look at. I would much rather see relevant information about your city spread out among more pages. This looks so much like the American news websites, the ones that have too much on them. I don't see much that is original except for the graphic at the top of the page.

I think that before you start incorporating changes into your site that other people have suggested you should look at their sites first. I guess if it where me, and someone was giving me advice I would want to make sure they knew what they were doing first.

Just a random thought. Good luck with your site.

overall I like your site you have a ton of info ……

Two things that come to mind

1st - make your ‘photo of the day’ on the front click to enlarge function – so that it popups in a window sized to fit the image

2nd - if you can format the text in your latest news articles so that the – view > text size > smaller larger etc works in IE

The whole purpose of people posting requests for a site review here is to get an unbiased appraisal from a third party without a vested interest. These are almost always a "points-of-view". Either you agree with them or you don't.

I don't believe any "reviewer" is expecting that what they suggest needs necessarily to be acted on. That decision is ultimately up to the person(s) who requested the review in the first place.

So what is the point of "qualifying" reviewers? They are only expressing their personal opinions. Would you rather prefer that only "professional" designers review sites?

I have not done a "Needs Analysis" of any of the sites that I have reviewed so everything I say is worth just 2 cents. I am also learning just like everyone else. By reviewing someone else's site I learn more about what works and what does'nt.

In return for the "honor" of being allowed to comment on someone elses work, I merely wish to return the favor by expressing a "subjective" opinion based on my own knowledge and experiences.

If the receipent of my comments is helped by my comments, great. If not no big deal. Take it for what it is, a straight answer to a simple request: "Please review my site".

I myself have benefitted greatly by having my own site reviewed by people here. I don't question their abilities or qualifications. Every response is equally valuable. They have helped me, and I am just hoping to help someone else in return.

Default Thanks for the Reminder

trackdancer,
yes, of course, i will only implement those that web authorities have suggested. Their opinions count nonetheless but not implemented immediately without 3rd or 4th opinion.

raquellbell,
yes, u have a point; and i agree with that,

bonefish,
that's what i'm working on right now. get back soon and it will be done.

thanks everyone!
