I'm a novice webmaster for a small non-profit HIV/AIDS coalition. I originally created our website several years ago using FrontPage and I was never completely satisfied with it. I recently completed a few HTML and XHTML classes and have redone the web site from scratch writing all my own code. The link to the revamped pages is
http://www.aidsnetpa.org/new web site/default.htm.
According to the statistics on our current FrontPage site, visitors come to our site mainly to find places to get tested for HIV and where to get care services. So I have simplified the site to make it more user friendly for that audience.
I'm looking for feedback on the color scheme, the layout, how the information is presented, etc. I created a slideshow .swf file with Flash Slideshow Generator software which appears on the home page; however, it loads very slowly. Any suggestions on how I can tweek the slideshow so that it loads faster would be appreciated.
I ran my files through the W3C Markup Validation Service and they were all compliant. I viewed the site in IE, Netscape, Mozilla and Opera and it appears okay in each browser, other than the slideshow taking way too long to load.
Thank you.
Cindy
