It is a mess.
Fuzzy images. And PowerPoint stick figures!
Homepage is way too long.
Dark text on dark backgrounds is too difficult to read.
I have no clue what the site is about, so I see no reason to stick around.
Too over 30 secs to load.

The only comment I can suggest that hopefully you have time to implement is fixing the auto expand to a set size. If your banner is 769 in width, so should the blog widths. With WordPress it can be accomplished by editing the CSS file. Currently the banner looks out of place on anything larger than 800X600 making the top navigation and links get lost in corner of the banner picture.

Other comments to think of:

It would seem that the blog covers a range of items but does not focus or specialize in anything in particular. It seems like more of a friends and family blog. If that is what you are going for.

Colors and font sizes for the navigation are a bit small for me. One alternative would be to check out Free Word Press Themes at Theme Viewer. You may find one what suits your needs with the proper CSS already completed.

What have you done? WordPress templates are foolproof.
Firstly, it is not cross browser compatible - breaks in FireFox.

Page is way to big. I tried a test on the home page and it was dumped for being larger than 150kb. Like Dave, it took an age to load and I have fast Broadband.

I would advise you to go find a friendly designer to build a professional looking banner. Then bung that into one of the many good templates that already exist for WordPress and all you need do in first instance is tweak the colours.

I also note that the page has over 200 html validation errors. One of great things about WordPress is that it validates out of the box.

Start simple, develop your blog (and as Dave suggests, might be good idea to tell us poor eejits what it is supposed to be about) and then you can go on to develop the look and feel.

Right now, life too short to even try and find out what is on first page.

You need to take off the Harry Potter book posts. That is copyright infringement. You need to look at other posts as well to make sure that you are not trampling on copyright toes. Warn people if you are going to spoil something for them. I have the book, but I have not read it yet. I haven't had the time. I DON"T want to see it posted in a blog.
